The stated pay scale reflects the range as defined by the collective bargaining agreement between Sharp HealthCare and Sharp Professional Nurses Network, United Nurses Associations of California/Union of Health Care Professionals, NUHHCE, AFSME, AFL-CIO. Placement within the range is based on years of RN experience.
What You Will Do

Hours (Specific to Hospitals/Open Positions)
Full-time; 12-hour shift; Day Shift and Night Shift; including every other weekend
Required Qualifications
Graduate of nursing school.
1 Year clinical experience (RNs with less than 12 months experience will complete the new grad requirements).
California Registered Nurse (RN) - CA Board of Registered Nursing
Applications for our June 2024 Transition in Practice 8 Week Training Program will be accepted on the following dates:
Monday, April 29th, at 5pm PST, through Monday, May 13th, at 5pm PST.
Start dates for these programs are June 5th, 2024 for new hires and June 9th, for transfers.

Additional Preferred Qualifications: PCCN
Purpose of Unit: Specializes in providing care for a variety of medical and surgical patients, including but not limited to gastrointestinal and urinary patient populations
Top 5 Diagnoses: Abdominal pain, post-surgical/post-procedural, liver related disease processes, UTI, sepsis

Sharp Grossmont Hospital Neuroscience PCU 5E
Additional Required Certifications: NIHSS
Additional Preferred Qualifications: SCRN or PCCN
Purpose of Unit: Sharp Grossmont is the only Joint Commission Comprehensive Stroke Center in East County and in the Sharp Health System. This unit is the designated neuro/stroke progressive care unit
Top 5 Diagnoses: CVA, TIA, peripheral vascular disease, hypertensive urgency, diabetes mellitus

Sharp Grossmont Hospital Pulmonary/CHF Telemetry/PCU 4E
Additional Preferred Qualifications: PCCN
Purpose of Unit: Provides care for telemetry patients, primarily specializing in pulmonary failure, congestive heart failure, and renal failure
Top 5 Diagnoses: Heart failure, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, pneumonia, renal failure, coronary artery disease

Sharp Grossmont Hospital Oncology Progressive Care Unit 2E
Additional Preferred Qualifications: PCCN, OCN. CMSRN, Med-surg-BC
Purpose of Unit: 2 East is a Progressive Care Unit that specializes in Oncology, Palliative Care, End of Life, Advanced Illness Management, and geriatric care (NICHE).
Top 5 Diagnoses: PNA, DM, UTI, different CA dx, sepsis, and other wide range of diagnoses

Sharp Grossmont Hospital 2N 2S 1S Innovations Units:
Additional Preferred Qualifications: N/A
Purpose of Unit: 2N is a semi-private unit with overflow progressive care patients. We see a variety of diagnosis. We are the innovations unit with outside the box thinking. 2S/1S are ICU Step-Down units serving higher acuity patients. Types of patients can include but not limited to sepsis chronic respiratory failure. Mechanical ventilation titratable drips etc

Sharp Grossmont Hospital Orthopedic/Surgical PCU 4W:

Purpose of Unit: Provides care for acute care and telemetry patients, primarily specializing in orthopedics after surgery care. We hold Joint Commission Certifications for Hip Replacement and Knee Replacement surgeries.
Top 5 Diagnoses: Hip Replacement surgery, Knee Replacement surgery, spine surgery, and various fracture repair

Sharp Grossmont Hospital Behavioral Health Unit
Purpose of Unit: This is a locked unit, designed for adult patients who are gravely disabled or impaired in their psychological functioning as to constitute a danger to themselves or others. Highly focused efforts are provided by the Multidisciplinary Team to assess and stabilize persons in a safe, caring and therapeutic environment. The Sharp Grossmont Behavioral Health team consists of a dedicated staff of experienced professionals who care for the patient from admission through discharge. The team includes nurses, licensed clinical social workers, licensed marriage family therapists, psychiatrists, pharmacists and case managers.
Top Diagnoses: bipolar, depression, psychosis, schizophrenia
Number of Beds: 14 (part of 46 total inpatient psychiatric beds)
