Job Description Summary:

This position is responsible for planning and coordinating the daily activities of the clinical staff members in the clinic and nursing office to ensure proper coverage and patient care. This position will allow direct oversight to the flow of patients through our clinic as well as prompt follow up with patients regarding test results and incoming patient calls.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Degree from accredited school of nursing and current RN licensure or Masters degree in Social work, counseling, or related field. LISW or LPCC required.

SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE

Degree from accredited school of nursing and current RN licensure or Masters degree in Social work, counseling, or related field. LISW or LPCC required.

Social Work or Nursing in a critical care environment and or cardiology office Experience. Minimum 3 years of clinical Experience and 2 years previous leadership experience.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

1.40%

DEPARTMENT MANAGEMENT. Provides all nurses and medical assistants with guidelines in which to function independently in the clinic and nursing office.

Monitors patient flow throughout the clinic and quality of patient care. Keeps abreast to changes in the healthcare industry and communicates changes that could impact the services. Develops clinic / nursing policies and procedures in accordance with governmental and other regulatory standards.

Responsible for maintaining properly operating medical equipment. Monitors telephone and test results documentation and response time. Manages the day to day clinical operations, planning and issues.

PLANNING. Manages staff time away to ensure appropriate resources are available to carry out daily clinical activities including telephone triage.

Monitors daily operating activities of the nurses and medical assistants; such as work load, staff productivity and prepares various reports to effectively plan future department resources. Serves as clinical EMR super user and is involved in the review and roll out of new templates, medication module changes etc. Solicits feedback from the physicians regarding clinic flow, concerns and evaluates the need for process improvement. Assure timely and quality response of patient care, communications, test results, clinical processes in accordance with practice standards.

PERSONNEL MANAGEMENT. Meets weekly with the director of operations to discuss department issues/changes in healthcare industry.

Meets weekly with the management team to discuss practice issues and/or needs. Meets with staff on a monthly basis to keep them abreast of changes in the practice and to specifically discuss any department changes. Meets individually with staff as requested and maintains an open door policy for any perceived issues or problems.

Ensures development and delivery of nursing education to staff. Responsible for selecting, orienting, monitoring and evaluating nursing and medical assistant staff. Assist with recruitment/ interviews /hiring of clinical staff.

Develop and coordinate orientation program of new clinical staff. Assure clinical staffing maximizes physician efficiency and patient flow and is provided in a cost effective manner.

RISK MANAGEMENT. Reviews and responds to any clinical incident reports.

Investigates the complaint/incident, reviews with Director of Operations and contacts patients as needed. If needed, updates policies and procedures and educates staff on changes to policies. Serves as a clinical liaison for any upset patient in the clinical setting.

Ensure staff complies with OSHA/HIPPA/State of Ohio and regulatory bodies. Responsible for job performance and reviews of clinical staff.
