Providence is calling a Nurse Manager (Emergency Services, Days, 1.0) to Providence St. Joseph Medical Center in Polson, Montana. In this position you will:

  • Be responsible for the clinical and operational management of the patient care area to promote the delivery of the highest quality of care and service.

  • Have authority and accountability for patient care processes, clinical skill development, clinical outcomes, and customer and employee satisfaction. The Clinical Nurse Manager supervises the staff and nurse team members.

  • Provide continuous assessment of patient care area activities and provides direction and issue resolution in a timely manner.

  • Efficiently controls the productivity and staffing for the patient care , through the use of leadership skills, promotes staff productivity and positive staff morale that includes staff involvement in problem solving; demonstrates skill in communicating clearly, concisely and factually in various settings utilizing both verbal and written means; informs the Director and/or Administrator of emergent or unusual events, trends, problems perceived and suggestions for problem resolution and/or improvement for departmental operations.

Required qualifications for this position include:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN)

  • Unencumbered RN license in state(s) of hire, and wherever care is delivered. If RN holds a multistate license through the Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC), the RN must adhere to the requirements of licensure in the new state(s) of hire

  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) card must be from the following authorized governing bodies: American Heart Association (AHA) - (BLS Provider), American Red Cross (ARC) - (BLS for Health Care Provider), or Military Training Network (MTN) (Healthcare Provider) upon hire

  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), must be from AHA or MTN, upon hire

  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), must be from AHA or MTN, within 6 months

  • 3 years of nursing experience in the specialty of the unit (Emergency Department RN)

  • 1 year of previous experience in a leadership role

Preferred qualifications for this position include:

  • Master's Degree in Nursing (MSN)
  • Certified Emergency Nurse (CEN) preferred upon hire

With expanding services, building renovations and outstanding technology, our community hospital is the heart of medical care in Polson, Montana and the large, sparsely populated surrounding area. We have close ties to St. Patrick Hospital, Providence's tertiary center located 66 miles away in Missoula.

Required qualifications for this position include: * Nursing degree/diploma required upon hire * All Registered Nurses without a Bachelor's of Nursing (BSN) degree or higher must obtain a BSN within 3 years of hire.
