Clinical Nurse I, Medical Unit

Full-Time, 72 hours per pay period, Variable shifts

Our staffing mix includes RNs, LPNs, CNAs and HUCs. Our multi-disciplinary team of doctors, nurses, therapists, nutritionists, case managers and direct care staff meet daily to discuss patient's conditions and progress toward their discharge plan.

We serve a rapidly growing community with a wide age range. Our staff involves family in the care of the patient through participation and education of the patient`s medical condition. We are committed to providing excellent patient care and an exceptional practice environment for our staff.

Position Summary:
Provides professional nursing care within an assigned unit; coordinates care planning with other disciplines.

Minimum Education: None specified; however, must be sufficient to meet the standards for achievement of the below indicated license and/or certification as required by the issuing authority.

Minimum Experience: New graduate within 1st year of orientation.

License Requirement: Valid Tennessee license. Yearly infection control, fire, safety, and CPR in-services are required.

About Our Career Opportunity MiddleCreek Family Practice, a division of Summit Medical Group, has an immediate opening for an experienced Phone Nurse. This is a full time opportunity, M-F, 8am-5pm. RESPONSIBILITIES: (List does not include all duties assigned) * Handles incoming and return patient phone calls appropriately: triages, obtains and records appropriate signs and symptoms, communicates to patient's appropriate instructions / information per protocols, and documents all communication. * Schedules office and outpatient appointments as appropriate with efficient use of clinical time slots. * Places calls to handle pre-certifications, referrals, and ancillary / lab scheduling as well as calling in prescriptions. * Escorts patients to exam rooms and prepares the patient for examination or procedure according to physician preferences. * Takes vital signs and records accurately. * Performs office procedures as requested such as phlebotomy, injections, EKGs, holter monitors, etc., (and, if certified, X-rays). * Exhibits sound clinical skills in assisting the physician(s) with procedures as well as administering medication and patient educations. * Pulls and prepares patient records for physician to treat patient, as needed. * Maintains stocked, neat, and clean examination rooms and common work areas on a daily basis. * Performs all other duties assigned by supervisor, Site Manager, physician or Administrative staff. Requirements EDUCATION: High School Diploma or equivalent required, additional vocational or college credits required. Licensure/Certification: *Current Licensed Practical Nurse License or National Certification as a Certified Medical Assistant.
