Clinical Nurse Consultant (RN)

ICU Medical is currently hiring for a Clinical Nurse Consultant. Ideal candidate will be located in the Southeastern section of the United States (GA, FL, SC, NC or TN). This is a field based (home-office) position typically requiring travel more than 80% of the time.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Project Management of Implementations (timelines, milestones, resources), while collaborating with internal and external teams; such as Pharmacy, Nursing, IT, Project Management, Materials Management

  • Involvement in technology integration of ICU Medical infusion devices with EHR vendors for full five right medication administration at the bedside

  • Assessment of clinical workflow in facilities (workflow at the bedside, financial impact)

  • Planning, execution and follow up to education of hospital clinicians on the use of infusion devices

  • Analysis of infusion device data

  • Presenting to a variety of audiences in a variety of settings

  • Clinical Subject Matter Expert for internal and external customers

  • Support select Sales Activities and Presentations as the Subject Matter Expert

Knowledge skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree is required; Masters' degree is preferred with current RN license in the state of residence

  • A Minimum of 4 years recent RN experience preferably in areas of oncology, trauma, ED or critical care areas

  • Prior leadership role in nursing is highly desirable

  • Must be self-motivated, well-organized with the ability to work under time-sensitive deadlines.

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills are required

  • Must have proficient in MS Office skills with Outlook, Excel and Power Point. Knowledge of leading web-ex meetings is highly preferred.

  • Analytical skills and knowledge of statistics desired

This is a field based (home office) position typically requiring travel 50% of the time. Ideal candidate will be centrally located in the U.S. near a major airport. The Senior Data Analytics Pharmacy Consultant provides program leadership to the Executive Data Analytics (EDA) Program. Will participate as part of the leadership team to a clinically-oriented, cross-functional team comprised of Nurses and Pharmacists. The consultant also delivers input to Marketing, Regulatory, Quality, Medical and R&D by providing customer feedback and direct use experience to support product and service development. Essential Duties & Responsibilities: * Provide leadership to ICU Medical staff engaged in the Executive Analytics Program * Positions the EDA program to address broader healthcare trends and healthcare improvement initiatives. * In collaboration with ICU Medical leadership, sets standards for quality of EDA activities. * Works effectively in an independently manner to achieve goals and meet timelines. * Develops new analytic approaches and tools to expand capabilities of the EDA program. * Develops and maintains expertise in reporting capabilities of ICU Medical Informatics products. * Provides customer feedback and EDA staff feedback to ICU Medical Leadership, Marketing and R D organizations to improve reporting and analytic capabilities of ICU Medical Informatics products. * Assists ICU Medical leadership and staff in appropriately interpreting data from ICU Medical Informatics products. * Train and mentors ICU Medical staff engaged in the EDA program so they develop the knowledge, skills and abilities to effectively engage customers over the EDA program. * Works effectively in a team environment, supports collaboration among team members, and supports standardized processes. * Has passion for clinical performance improvement and assists customers in using data from ICU Medical Informatics products to improve clinical performance. * Maintains and develops skills necessary to effectively provide customer-centric ICU Medical data analytics programs, including the use of software tools (Excel, statistical programs) to organize and analyze smart pump programming data, create actionable recommendations, and present findings to clinical leadership at the facility or health system level. * Provides direct EDA engagements to customers. * Has skills and abilities to develop long-standing professional relationships with clinical leadership at customer sites. * Alerts other ICU Medical staff about opportunities to utilize ICU Medical products and services to improve patient care delivery. * Maintains subject matter expertise in infuser functionality and drug library functionality of ICU Medical Informatics products. * Understands workflows and processes to support smart pump programming of ICU Medical devices. Assists in developing metrics to support measurement of smart pump programming effectiveness and efficiency. * Understands the processes to implement ICU Medical infusers and informatics solutions. * Is able to effectively evaluate professional literature and understand the application of statistics in data analytics work. * Support select sales activities and presentations as the subject matter expert. Knowledge, Skills and Qualifications: * Self-motivated and skilled at working independently * Strong comprehension and communication skills (verbal and written) * Strong organizational, critical thinking and problem solving skills * Skilled at effectively teaching others * Proficiency with data analytic tools such as Microsoft Access, as well as understanding of basic/ intermediate statistics is desirable * Advanced computer skills required: MS Word, MS Excel, PowerPoint, and SQL/Database management tools, develops expertise in statistical software product, develops expertise in analytics/business intelligence software products * Demonstrated effectiveness presenting to groups of clinicians and with senior hospital clinical leadership * Ability to explain complex concepts in a clear and concise manner Education and Experience: * Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy. PharmD, MBA, PhD preferred * Must hold an active Pharmacy license in at least one state in the U.S. * 5 years of pharmacy experience, and 3 years of hospital pharmacy supervisory position or clinical consulting preferred * Acute care hospital experience preferred.
