Clinical Mentor - Fairfax Campus Emergency Departments

The Fairfax Medical Campus is seeking a Clinical Mentor to support it's Emergency Departments. This will include the Pediatric & Adult ED at our Level 1 Trauma Facility and the Reston & Fairfax City Standalone EDs. Ideal candidate must have BSN and 3 years progressive Emergency experience. This position is Monday-Friday, day shift. Sign On Bonus and Relocation Bonus available to eligible Nurses.

The Clinical Mentor guides, trains and coaches team members through the promotion and delivery of high-quality nursing care. Orients, educates and develops nursing team members to ensure competence and ability to fulfill specified responsibilities. Provides support to novice and advanced nurses and preceptors to ensure a smooth transition into practice and the work environment. Meets the clinical and social adjustment needs of all team members by integrating knowledge, skills and experiences. Participates in the design, delivery and evaluation of educational programs to promote clinical development and career progression from novice to proficient nurse for new or existing clinicians.

Requirements:

• Experience

• 3 years of progressive experience in clinical nursing in designated specialty; experience serving as a preceptor

• Education

• Bachelors Degree in Nursing

• Certification

• Basic Life Support

• Licensure

• Licensed in the Commonwealth of Virginia as a Registered Nurse
