JOB SUMMARY:

Under the general supervision of a licensed care provider and/or management the PAR II/Clinical Medical Assistant I is responsible to function as both a PAR and a Clinical Medical Assistant. The staff member is responsible to provide and document clinical care and associated tasks within the scope of practice of a medical assistant as assigned.

The staff member is responsible for securing and providing appropriate medial business information to/from patient families and funding sources. The staff member is responsible for interprets, identifies and documents this information by way of; registration, scheduling and/or obtaining authorizations for out-patient services and/or diagnostic services. Collaborates with interdisciplinary team to insure optimal care is provided in a quality environment to patients and families. Perform administrative duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

High School Diploma, GED, or Equivalent

CPR/BLS Certification (AHA)

1 year of experience as a Clinical Medical Assistant

1 year of experience as a Patient Access Rep (PAR); OR Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration or related field with no prior experience; OR a Graduate from Technical Training School in a related field of study with no prior experience

Completion of a Medical Assistant course

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Associate's Degree

Experience with EPIC EMR system

Advanced knowledge of medical terminology

Bilingual English/Spanish
