Becton Dickinson (BD) is looking for a Clinical Marketing Manager for our MDS division in Franklin Lakes NJ to develop and implement clinical marketing plans and developing tools, programs, and a variety of initiatives that highlight the clinical value proposition of US MDS value offers. This role will require detailed technical/clinical knowledge of US MDS products spanning Vascular, Injection, and Oncology and extensive knowledge of the clinical marketplace.

The incumbent interfaces with Clinical, Medical Affairs, Sales, Societies, Customers and Marketing. He/she is accountable for the planning, design, implementation and completion of innovative programs & initiatives that are consistent with program/product strategies.


  • Develop new customer support collateral to meet our clinical value-added programs and goals

  • Support relationships with key societies and organizations to support clinical and educational activities

  • Monitor & drive assessment utilization and tracking and drive competency including sales & clinical training & competency

  • Gather and disseminate customer feedback for value added programs

  • Working with internal team and external customers, develop presentations, abstracts, posters, manuscripts, and case studies to communicate/disseminate -

  • Execute approved studies and manage ongoing studies according to budget and timeline expectations

  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders on clinical phase development plans and solutions based assessments

  • Support guideline development and various other market shaping initiatives

  • Develop and maintain excellent working relations with internal and external HEOR experts to ensure appropriate methods in health economics are applied

  • Assure compliance of evidence-based medicine and principles for economic & clinical assessment.


  • BS/BSN with health science and/or biostatistical research background. Masters degree preferred

  • A minimum of 5 years' experience in outcomes research supporting U.S. or Global HEOR activities

  • Experience in analyzing claims databases (Truven, Optum etc) and EMRs to assess the burden and cost of disease

  • Knowledge of clinical and outcomes research applied to retrospective and prospective HEOR research

  • Superior written and verbal communication skills with proficiency in communicating clinical technical information to varied internal and customer audiences

  • High level of proficiency using MS Office (Word/Excel/PowerPoint/Outlook)

  • Microsoft SharePoint experience is preferred

  • Demonstrated ability to initiate and manage day-to-day tasks effectively, with a high degree of self-motivation

  • Demonstrated ability to manage vendors conducting research and all associated budgets to that research

  • Ability to travel up to 75% of the time

This position is responsible for routine and non-routine activities such as calendar management and event planning, coordinating marketing projects, marketing communications activities, post market surveillance and general administrative support for the platform marketing group. The marketing assistant is expected to work independently, taking routine direction and prioritizing requests from multiple managers. The position has limited discretion and decision-making is limited to the defined scope of a project. Job Description Calendar Management, Travel and Event Planning (35%) * Coordinates and schedules meetings and appointments as well as updating calendars to reflect appointments/meetings. This also includes planning and follow-up with attendees, facilities and other resources. Arrange logistics to support meetings (agendas, meeting room space, catering requests, handouts and AV equipment requests). * Coordinates and schedules internal and external meetings and events, e.g. strategy fairs, marketing training programs, etc. This includes planning and follow-up with attendees, facilities and other resources. Arrange travel, lodging, logistics and recreational activities (if necessary) to support meetings (agendas, meeting room space, catering requests and AV equipment requests); Coordinates and manages the production of meeting materials for internal and external customers including training programs, binders, posters etc. * Coordinates domestic and international travel plans for the group including meeting registrations, accommodations and itineraries as necessary. General Administrative Support (35%) * Prepares presentations (PowerPoint) and develops spreadsheets (Excel) with quantitative information from draft documents. * Coordinates approval and payments of invoices for expenses charged to managers' department budgets. Resolves billing and payment issues. Enters purchase orders on SAP software system. Distributes purchase orders. Prepares and processes payables by coding and recording. Reconciles expenses with A/P and Finance reports. Updates and distributes budget reports on a monthly basis. * Helps to generate confidentiality agreements and contracts with external vendors/suppliers in support of platform projects. * Orders office supplies, maintaining expenditure within budget. * Establishes and maintains appropriate files (ex. correspondence, business and product). * May be requested to handle/process expense reports for group * Coordinates internal printing and mail fulfillment for promotional and other communications to customers, field sales and internal personnel. Marketing Communication Activities (20%) * Responsible for oversight of the global copy approval process and for supporting regional copy approval. This includes maintenance of project files in Veeva Vault and management of all supporting literature for claims. * Manage marketing collateral and tools in an online database (bigtincan) to ensure all material is up to date and has appropriate supporting documentation. Manage requests for access to system and tools from all regions in a timely manner. * Project coordination as assigned, i.e. data collection and consolidation, creative projects that require design services and print production. These projects may require an understanding of BD Identity guidelines, managing timelines and project costs. MPS Compliance Support (10%) * Post Market Surveillance (PMS) Coordinator: * MDS representative for Platform * Assist with embedding Post Market Surveillance processes within Platform organizations * Standardize filing system for long term PMS activities * Identify data gaps and develop a plan to fill the gaps * Achieve NO major non-conformances during internal or external audits Meet quality standards for the positions * Maintain project files for 10 year period in compliance with ISO 9001 regulations. * Comply with all local, state, federal and BD safety regulations/policies/procedures. * Comply with all local BD quality policies/procedures/practices through consistent application of sound QA principles. KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE: * Minimum of 2 years of experience in project focused administrative support or marketing communications in a healthcare related field, preferably device manufacturer or healthcare provider * Is proficient in the use of a personal computer utilizing the following programs: PowerPoint, Word, Excel, and Outlook.
