Clinical Manager, Secure Care

Salary Range: $86,652.80 - $103,272.00/yr

Job Summary

Provides clinical and administrative leadership and management oversight to Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) informed program and daily operations within the Youth Detention Center with a specialized focus on youth in the Milwaukee County Accountability Program (MCAP). Provides clinical consultation and program development leadership to enhance community safety. Leads all Unit Therapists and others within the development of the program to support future state Secure Residential Care Center for Children & Youth (SRCCCY) operations.

Job Responsibilities

  • Delivery and Coordination of Treatment Services
  • Administers psycho-social and AODA assessments to youth and their families who are in secure care. Provides direct clinical services including individual and group psychotherapy. Treatment and behavior planning, safety/crisis planning, and triage requests for services.
  • Clinical Supervision, Assessments and Consultation
  • Provide high risk consultation and program oversight for over 100+ youth in secure care. Supervises Unit Therapists to promote evidence-based interventions, including DBT. Prepares, reviews and approves case notes, treatment plans and other documentation.
  • Coordination of Treatment Services
  • Serves as a consultant to and provides liaison services with Human Service Workers, Case Managers and other treatment staff. Assists Crisis Services by utilizing Wraparound Reach Crisis program and other funds to purchase needed community resources and services.
  • Training and Development of Staff
  • Responsible for hiring and onboarding new staff. Educates, teaches and trains mental health professionals, paraprofessionals, contracted partners, and teachers working within secure care. Supervises interns and trainees.
  • Program Development and Evaluation
  • Provides consultation and oversight to program and service evaluation activities. Collaborates with system partners by conducting research and ensuring quality assurance. Strategically plans and seeks funding for new program initiatives. Assists with program expansion and implementation.
  • Compliance with Laws, Regulations, Policies and Procedures
  • Understands and complies with State, Federal, and other regulatory guidelines, laws, and requirements in the delivery of mental health and substance use care. Assists with Children, Youth & Family Services policy and procedure development and implementation.
  • Ability to push, pull, carry and lift up to 25 lbs.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Education, License/Certification and Experiences

  • Current residency within the State of Wisconsin upon application required

  • Master's degree or higher in Social Work, Psychology or closely related field required

  • Three (3) years or more of work experience in Psychotherapy/Counseling with Youth or closely related experience required

  • One (1) year or more of work experience in a Supervisory or Management role required

  • Currently state licensed as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) or Psychologist required

  • Basic knowledge of all related computer and software applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and Teams required

Preferred Education, License/Certification and Experiences

  • Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) experience preferred

  • Previous experience working with substance use disorders preferred
