Educational Requirements

Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) in good standing with the State Board in which he/she practices.

Position Requirements

Minimum of one year experience in home health care, or hospice nursing preferred, may be specified by state.

Previous management or supervisory experience preferred.

Working knowledge of Home Care or Hospice Conditions of Participation

Position Information: The Clinical Documentation Specialist, RN is responsible for concurrent auditing of medical record documentation to ensure documentation adequately reflect care provided, use of resources, and meets regulatory requirements. Works to ensure that documentation is complete and accurately coded. Maintains documentation regarding results of audit activity, educates others in audit review and OASIS requirements, and informs management as necessary. Responsible for leading Performance Improvement initiatives as it relates to any department identified OASIS related documentation.
