The Maternity Services at Saint Anthony Hospital offer state


-of-the-art labor and delivery rooms, a Level II nursery, as well as Maternal-Fetal Medicine services. Our Maternity Center fosters a private and nurturing environment that supports new families and promotes patient and newborn safety.#While designed to feel like home, each patient room has all of the necessary high-tech medical equipment with a specialized clinical team ready to care for each new mother and her baby. Obstetricians, masters-prepared midwives and family practitioners provide obstetrical care in our Maternity Center, and obstetrical anesthesiologists manage patient pain to assure as comfortable a delivery experience as possible.#In addition, our in-house skilled neonatologist attends all high-risk deliveries. Our nursery provides radiant warming beds and ventilators,#when necessary. Cardiac activity, respiratory status and other life parameters are monitored continuously. Premature and critically ill newborns receive exceptional care in either our own Level II nursery or the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at the University of Chicago Medicine Comer Children#s Hospital. Comer Children#s neonatal critical care transport team transfers patients from Saint Anthony.


Position Highlights:


The Clinical Manager, Perinatal Services,#manages the day-to-day operations of the Labor # Deliver and Obstetrics departments, including scheduling, staffing and oversight of clinical functions to assure the delivery of quality patient care.


Essential Job Functions:


# Efficiently uses internal and external resources to ensure appropriate staffing of unit based on accepted standards of care. In outpatient settings, develops and coordinates clinical program schedule#and goals and may provide direct patient care. Manages unit personnel by hiring quality staff to meet the needs of patients and their families, provides ongoing supervision and direction to the staff, and evaluates staff performance including recommendations for personnel actions. Participates in the development of and holds staff accountable for hospital, nursing and unit policies, procedures, objectives, competencies, performance improvement initiatives as well as safety, environmental and infection control standards. Maintains departmental records and reports and collects statistical data for administrative and regulatory purposes. Maintains knowledge base in the specific clinical area and promotes professional staff development. #Assists in the development of unit operating and capital budgets. Maintains unit budget and productivity within appropriate parameters.


Job Requirements:


Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree Current and unrestricted RN licensure for the state of Illinois Charge nurse experience with previous managerial experience is preferred. CPR, ACLS, PALS and NRP current certifications Able to mentor staff in performance of their job roles. Good conflict management and communication skills.
