The Professional Model of Care requires registered professional nurses to be responsible and accountable for their own practice. Specific Requirements and Preferences

Nursing experience. Demonstrated experience in a charge nurse role in a comparable setting. Minimum of one-year recent pediatric experience in a comparable setting. Minimum of 1 year of demonstrated nursing leadership experience. (Required)

Functional Accountabilities

Professional Practice/Research
1.Participate in/support Shared Leadership.
2.Contribute to CNMC's Magnet Journey.
3.Ensure that nursing is based on evidence of best practice.
4.Accountable to support/participate the Division of Nursing's Performance Improvement process.
5.Participate in community activities.

Implements Nursing Process
1.Function as a resource in the charge nurse role for all aspects of patient care delivery.
2.Continuously evaluate patient care delivered to all patients and families.
3.Maintain knowledge and responsibility for patients on the unit.
4.Assume direct patient care responsibility as needed, to meet identified patient care needs.

Communication Channels
1.Utilizes therapeutic communication when dealing with patients and families.
2.Demonstrates skillful communication by adapting techniques based on the situation.
3.Collaborates with staff, patients/families, and members of the health care team to facilitate patient outcomes.
4.Written communication reflects clear concise, goal directed, and objective information.
5.Leads hospital/division projects or committees.
