Halifax Health is seeking a Manager for the Hospice Clinical Team.
Summary
In accordance with the hospice mission statement, ACES standards and Cornerstone behaviors, the Clinical Manager is responsible to coordinate, supervise, plan, organize, staff and direct the care of the patient, Bereavement Services and/or Volunteer Services on a daily operational basis. Functions within the standards, policies, procedures and guidelines of Halifax Health and the hospice system. Meets all state and federal regulations. The Clinical Manager is responsible that the assigned teams offer high quality, efficient and fiscally responsible services that add value to hospice, supporting its mission. The Clinical Manager is expected to support administration through collaboration and attendance of various meetings and community functions.
Job Qualifications
Graduate of an accredited Nursing Program; BSN preferred
Current RN license in the State of Florida
Minimum of 3 years of clinical leadership or management experience
Ability to interact with varied interhospital departments and outside agencies on behalf of the facility
Effective communication and customer service skills
Evidence of effective leadership and management abilities

Operational
Evaluate staff by participating in field visits or on site visits; review of documentation and accountability of staff being evaluated.
Attend and provide expertise at various meetings including Utilization Review, IDG, and Care Plan meetings.
Participates and supports program development for assigned teams such as Bereavement and volunteer services.
Ensure adequate resources, supplies and equipment are available for team operations.
Provide supervision of employees in their respective team or service area and partner with other teams to ensure 24 hour accountability
Financial
Assist with budget preparation of assigned teams
Monitor and provide guidance for team to adhere to budget such as labor, supplies, medications and DME
Monitor all requests from teams for resources and ensure department use of items is fiscally a sound optio
Compliance/Quality Improvement
Departmental activities meet compliance with all state and federal regulations
Departmental activities meet compliance with organizational policies and standards
Model high ethical values in all decision making
Maintain policies assigned and update as needed
Educate staff on policies and standards
Participate in performance improvement projects for assigned teams
Human Resources
Knowledgeable in implementation of Human Resources policies and procedures
Interview, hire, ensure adequate education is provided to support new employee
Provide staff recognition
Follow Just Culture for staff needing accountability
Other Duties
Participate in representing Hospice within the Halifax Health system and community
Public speaking as assigned
On call responsibilities
Maintain current knowledge, skills, education and licensure. Attend required in-services and promote professional growth
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Sitting for long periods, computer work, lifting up to 50 pounds
Requires mobility, automobile travel to various locations, in and out of car to satellite offices, referral sources, care facilities and patient homes
Often makes important, multifactor decisions in a variety of situations
Ability to assign and direct work of teams in a manner conducive to productive, efficient performance and quality care
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Office environment the majority of the time
Is required to report during emergency situations
May work extended hours
