Position Summary:

The Clinical Manager for the Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) program who will oversee all clinical aspects of services for an assigned team(s). Manages, directs, and leads the treatment services provided, provides administrative and clinical supervision, and provides direct clinical services based on client and agency need. The Manager must be able to manage staff to key performance indicators and understand key data, metrics, and agency budget/financials.


  • Exhibits leadership and team-building skills to promote a patient-accountable culture among the team, among the department, and across the agency.

  • Demonstrates leadership and supervision skills that lead to acceptable/expected levels of productivity, efficiency and effectiveness of team members in expecting and providing excellent care to clients.

  • Works in coordination with other Clinical Managers and staff to ensure coverage of services, supervision, and crisis support across teams and programs.

  • Audits clients records to ensure compliance with quality standards and specifically monitors treatment plans, progress notes, medication, education and management, discharge summaries and plans.

  • Ensures compliance with regulations and guidelines issued by the District of Columbia Departments of Behavioral Health and Health; Medicaid Program and other applicable laws and regulations and professional standards.

  • Trains staff, manages, coordinates, evaluates and supervises all operations within assigned clinical staff and treatment services.

  • Provides personnel management functions for all assigned staff including supervision, annual evaluations, involvement in hiring, disciplinary actions, etc. and in consultation with Human Resources.

  • Provides individual and group supervision to improve the skills and production of staff.

  • Assists in innovation, development and implementation and evaluation of services.

  • Participates in staff meetings, serves on committees as appointed, and is actively involved in the engagement and retention initiatives of direct reports.

  • Provides direct services as budgeted

  • Provides leadership and supervision to support the team in fulfilling or exceeding budgeted service expectations.

  • Maintains client records and completes all documentation on a real-time basis.

  • Assists with preparing the team for accreditation, licensure, certification and audits.

  • Ensures clinical documentation meets compliance standards/guidelines.

  • Ensures customer satisfaction for both internal and external customers.

  • Works with others to secure new business, referrals and relationships for agency.

  • Keeps current with trends and developments related to essential job competencies, and demonstrates continued growth.


  • Masters degree in Social Work, Mental Health field.

  • Must be a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW); Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in District of Columbia

  • Two-three years of experience in the field

VIEW JOBS 12/2/2020 12:00:00 AM 2021-03-02T00:00 Position Summary: The Community Support Worker for the Assertive Community Treatment Program (ACT) works with individuals to promote optimum mental health and address behavioral health issues of service population. This position works directly with children, adolescents, adults or family groups to provide individualized treatment in dealing with issues associated with mental and emotional health. The Community Support Worker is responsible for the facilitation of the clients transition to independence; endorsement and application of community resources and the provision of information and referral services including mental health resources. Duties and Responsibilities: * Performs medically necessary community support, care coordination; therapeutic and skill building activities identified in the client treatment/care plan thats developed and implemented. * Guides and supports clients in the development of skills and strategies for addressing personal situations and to help them manage through them. Supports clients in achieving recovery and building resilience. * Documents and maintains confidential treatment records and reports within a timely manner, within 24 hours of service delivery. * Collaborates with staff and external resources that will support the client to perform clinical assessments and develop treatment plans. * Supports clients individually and in group sessions to assist in overcoming dependencies, adjusting to life, and making changes through skill development. * Acts as client advocate in order to coordinate required services or to resolve emergency problems in crisis situations. * Meets with families, probation officers, police and other interested parties in order to exchange necessary information during the treatment process. * Supports family members to assist them in understanding and supporting clients or patients. * Refers patients, clients or family members to community resources or to specialists as necessary. * Evaluates the effectiveness of services and clients progress in resolving identified problems and moving towards defined objectives. * Adheres to all federal, local laws and standards that govern the delivery of behavioral health services and adheres to Hillcrest Compliance Plan and statement of professional conduct. * May perform duties on weekends, holidays and on-call work hours. * Other duties as assigned. Qualifications: * Bachelors Degree (BA/BS) in related field preferred or an equivalent combination of education and one to two years related experience will be considered. * Credible system highly desirable. Experience with Microsoft Office applications/programs. * Practical knowledge and skill in providing a range of therapeutic techniques and skill building interventions. * Commitment to excellence and high standards. * Excellent written and oral communication skills. * Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills. * Ability to manage priorities and workflow. * Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm. * Ability to work independently and as a member of various teams and committees * Strong interpersonal skills. * Good judgment with the ability to make timely and sound decisions * Creative, flexible, and innovative team player. * Bilingual skills a plus. * Demonstrated competence in reacting to and handling emergencies. * Able to work collaboratively with multiple health professionals in a busy and complex environment using tact, diplomacy, and discipline. * Must be able to meet established productivity standards. * Strong charting/documentation skills utilizing an electronic medical record * Ability to effectively communicate with people at all levels and from various backgrounds.
