Job Description:

The Clinical Liaison collaborates with faculty, college and agency staff to place students in clinical experiences and service learning opportunities and to evaluate learning experiences. The liaison reviews student records to verify compliance with health requirements. The liaison serves as intermediary to clinical agencies to secure student placements, increase the number of clinical placements, track agency issues, requirements and learning opportunities. Maintains clinical agreements and markets the health care programs. Assists with preceptor orientation and builds relationships with preceptors. Conducts and assists with data collection and summary of surveys.

Requirements:

  • AA degree required, Baccalaureate degree in health care, nursing preferred

  • A minimum of two years' experience in a health care related field required

  • Recent health care related experience required

  • Nursing or allied health licensure with eligibility to practice in Maryland preferred

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively

  • Orientation to detail for maintenance of records

  • Ability to multitask and manage time

  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality

  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing

  • Regular attendance is a requirement of the position

VIEW JOBS 10/13/2020 12:00:00 AM 2021-01-11T00:00 Job Description: Job Responsibilities: * Provides pre-enrollment advising to students for all of the college's learning programs including the Laurel College Center. * Specially trained to provide admissions and advising services to all prospective and enrolled nursing and allied health students including cardiovascular technology, dental hygiene, diagnostic medical sonography, emergency medical services, medical laboratory technician, physical therapist assistant, radiologic technology, and programs offered through the Mid-Maryland Allied Health Care Education Consortium. * Works closely with the associate and assistant directors and program chairs to administer all aspects of the nursing and allied health admissions programs, including pre-enrollment advising, information sessions, application and selection processes, management of waiting lists for applicable programs, and development and implementation of selective admissions policies and procedures for multiple enrollment programs. * Serves as the lead coordinator and advisor of one or more nursing and allied health admissions and/or readmission programs. * Provides complex and detailed advising services, including placement test interpretations, program planning, course scheduling, degree audit, graduation clearance and transfer advising for all nursing and allied health programs. * Assists with the transcript evaluation processes including the evaluation of traditional and non-traditional transcripts for prospective nursing and allied health students. * Assists with the development of numerous nursing and allied health publications. * Assists with the coordination of special on and off campus information programs and events, college participation in off campus career and education fairs, and other community events and programs. * Acquires and maintains knowledge of Continuing Education nursing and allied health programs and career updates. * Interprets college policies and procedures for prospective and currently enrolled students, faculty and staff. * Assists with the development and implementation of the communications management process and other technology applications that facilitate selective admissions and readmission processes. * Assists with data collection and reporting related to selective nursing and allied health programs admission and readmission. * This position requires considerable knowledge and expertise in a wide variety of complex areas and is critical to enrollment and retention, as well as the accreditation of the nursing and allied health programs. Requirements: * Bachelor's degree in education, social sciences, student development or related field is required. Masters' degree preferred. * Prior admissions advising and academic advising experience with selective admissions clinical programs, including nursing and allied health programs, is required. * Transcript evaluation experience is required. * Prior event planning experience is preferred. * Extensive knowledge of federal and state laws and regulations related to admissions, advising, transfer, transcript evaluation, general education, and licensing exam requirements is required. * Excellent knowledge of and experience with student data system is preferred. * Experience with technology, equipment and applications, such as digital imaging, advising sign-in software, ARTSYS, Windows, MS Office, the web and internet and other related software applications is strongly preferred. * Demonstrated organizational and managerial skills is required. * Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills, including public speaking, is required. * Demonstrated ability to identify and manage multiple priorities while providing excellent customer service. * Ability to maintain strict confidentiality. * Ability to manage challenging student situations in relation to selective admissions programs and student success in these rigorous programs. * Regular attendance is a requirement of the job. * Bilingual speaker preferred. Additional Information: Hours Per Week: 37.5 Work Schedule: M - F 8:30am to 5pm, adjustment made for one evening per week, additional evenings and weekends.
