The Clinical Leader provides day-to-day supervision over the assigned area, making specific assignments, providing detailed instructions and establishing short-term priorities. This leader is responsible for monitoring the human, financial, and technical resources ensuring that the department/program meets the goals assigned. Responsibilities:

  • Management of People:

  • Recruitment, Recognition and Retention:

  • Recruits, recognizes, and retains staff reflecting organizational values.

  • Selects individuals matching organizational technical, leadership, and value requirements.

  • Encourages employee growth, recognizes achievements, and aligns talents with needs.

  • Recommends the exit of individuals not meeting role requirements.

  • Performance Management

  • Enhances performance through effective staff deployment and prioritization.

  • Provides regular, constructive feedback and performance reviews.

  • Sets clear goals and objectives, offering necessary tools and training.

  • Staff Development

  • Aligns staff development with departmental needs and individual strengths.

  • Offers stretch assignments and formal training for growth.

  • Supports staff to ensure success and participates in succession planning discussions.

  • Resource Management

  • Manages departmental resources (human, financial, technical) efficiently.

  • Adjusts resource allocation based on internal and external factors.

  • Monitors financial data and addresses budget variances.

  • Patient/Customer Engagement

  • Strengthens relationships through feedback and identifies improvement opportunities.

  • Compares services with similar organizations to innovate and enhance satisfaction.

  • Maintains a patient/customer-focused culture.

  • Methods and Processes

  • Ensures departmental compliance with policies, procedures, and established metrics.

  • Strategy and Achievement

  • Monitors activities to meet strategic milestones.

  • Job-Specific Responsibilities

  • Assists in planning for unit's future needs and participates in evaluating nursing care.

  • Collaborates on special projects and maintains effective relationships with medical staff.

  • Acts as a resource for clinical nurses and reviews policies and procedures.

  • Initiates reports on unusual occurrences and ensures regulatory compliance.

  • Evaluates new equipment and supplies, and monitors quality of environment, services, and equipment.

  • Uphold the values of MCH: Compassion, Collaboration, Honesty, and Respect.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Registered Nurse License

  • Demonstrated clinical, organizational, communication and conflict resolution skills required.

  • Minimum of 2+ years' experience in an operating room as a registered nurse

  • Prior Leadership experience preferred

  • ACLS, PALS

  • Professional Certification required within 1 year of date of hire

Additional Competencies and Skills:

  • Candidates may acquire these skills through on-the-job training*

  • Prior experience working in critical care is preferred.

  • Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU)

  • Prior Experience working with Endoscopy patients a plus

Working Hours:

This is a Full time Monday-Friday role, with on call requirements
