1 Responsible for technical administration and management of thediagnostic section of the radiology department. This should include the dailyassignment of technical staff, management of the patient flow and staffinglevels appropriate with patient volume, and troubleshooting equipmentfailures.
2.Assists Director and Asst. Director toensure radiation safety guidelines are enforced throughout the department ontheir shift.

  • Complies with radiation safety guidelinesfor patient and self, utilizes protective equipment. Operates radiographic equipment safely andcompetently.
    4.Assists FacilitySystem Administration providing guidance and troubleshooting to technical staffregarding the PACS System. Assist with PACS clean up. ie: Ensure that allpatient exams are closed and sent from the workstations, merge unspecifiedimages, erase cassettes etc
    5 Renders patient care in a professionaland courteous manner. Monitors patient's condition and communicates with theappropriate caregivers as needed.
    6 Oversee the imaging quality andtechnical accuracy of your immediate staff. Ensure the verification process iscompleted in a timely manner and maintain technical quality standards.

  • Demonstratesleadership and support of management initiatives in the performance of patientcare and throughput.
    8 Assists Asst. Director in completing and maintaining personaleducational requirements.
    9 As lead technologist, provide guidance andmentoring to staff technologists and students.
    10 Maintainsstrict confidentiality regarding employees and patient information according toHIPAA Policy and Procedure.

REQUIRED:Minimum 2 years experience as Diagnostic Radiologic Technologist.

PREFERRED:Multi-years experience as Diagnostic Technologist, with progressive managementexperience.

Experiencewith PACS System operations at level of Master Trainer.


REQUIRED:Graduate of AMA School of Radiologic Technology.

Responsiblefor continuing education credits as mandated by the ARRT for licensure.

Job Description: * Knows, understands, and puts into practice general lab policies/procedures as well as department/section specific policies/procedures. Reviews all posted policy changes as required. Adheres to all regulatory guidelines. * Demonstrates the ability to assess a situation, consider the options, and formulate an appropriate course of action. Recognizes and performs duties in an independent manner with little or no supervision. * Demonstrate initial and annual competency in all appropriate designated lab sections within set deadlines. Accurately performs proficiency testing when scheduled. Participates in continuing education activities. * Participates in all facility/corporate mandatory annual training within set deadlines. * Is cooperative in assisting the laboratory team in the completion of miscellaneous duties. This may include specimen receiving and putting away supplies when received in the department. * Organizes and completes daily tasks in assigned area{s}. * Troubleshoots/resolves instrument problems and documents corrective action in appropriate log; when necessary, performs instrumentation repairs. Effectively investigates/resolves specimen collection problems using Outstanding Specimen Report (OSR) and specimen tracking tool when appropriate. * Assures quality control is properly performed and logged, works within quality control limits and trends, and follows proper department procedure for corrective action. * Preventative maintenance and safety checks of equipment are performed and documented according to schedule. * Demonstrates the knowledge and skills to train new employees and/or students in general lab policies/procedures as well as department/section specific policies/procedures. * Demonstrates cultural competence by being able to explain procedures by utilizing communication interventions as appropriate for all customers across all ages and populations. * Demonstrates knowledge and adheres to all policies relating to the Accreditation National Patient Safety Goals for the Laboratory, including, but not limited to critical call read back and patient identification. EXPERIENCE Required - Graduate of accredited school of Clinical Laboratory Science. Preferred - 1-2 years experience as Medical Technologist EDUCATION Required - Bachelors Degree in Medical Technology or related science Preferred - Bachelors Degree in Medical Technology CERTIFICATION Required- Registry eligible, ASCP or equivalent. Successful completion of MT registry within 6 months of eligibility or hire. Continuing education to maintain registry/licensure is required.
