Clinical Laboratory Technologist

Job Description:

• This is a blood bank technologist position. They are looking for a candidate who have prior experience working in blood bank.

• The Medical Technologist performs qualitative and quantitative analysis on all specimens received in the laboratory for the station assigned.

• The Technologist will have an understanding of the principles of tests performed and working knowledge of the equipment used in the station which they are assigned.

• Specifically working in hematology responsible for urinalysis, coagulation and spinal counts.

• Ensure that all specimens are put in appropriate storage

• Follow all quality control policies and procedures to ensure reliable patient results

• Recognize critical or life-threatening results,, verify results, and report to the appropriate clinician

• Document all results in the LIS

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

• NYS Medical Technologist license

• Blood Bank experience in clinical lab

• ASCP certification is preferred but not required

Shift:

• Monday-Friday, 11pm-7am or 12am-8am / rotating weekends
