Clinical Laboratory Supervisor (Operations)

The Clinical Laboratory Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and managing the daily operations of our advanced clinical NGS laboratory, ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements. This role, which reports to the Clinical Laboratory Director, involves hands-on involvement in clinical laboratory operations, collaboration with stakeholders, data analysis, and leadership in quality and continuous improvement efforts.

In this role, a typical day might include the following:

• Direct and oversee the daily operations of the NGS clinical laboratory, including workflow, sample processing, testing, and result reporting to ensure efficient and accurate functioning.

• Ensure adherence to all regulatory standards and maintain compliance with New York State Department of Health regulations, CAP/CLIA guidelines, and other relevant accrediting agencies. Implement and monitor quality control procedures to guarantee accurate and reliable test results.

• Drives results in a fast-paced environment by providing operational leadership and presenting organizational capabilities, defining scope of work and delivering results through execution and technical guidance.

• Participate in design and performance of test validation processes, including method validation, performance evaluation, and verification of assays.

• Analyze and report quality indicators, tracking trends, and communicating critical compliance and quality risks.

This role may be for you if have:

• Experience working in a next generation sequencing clinical laboratory with direct involvement in operations.

• Experience with eQMS solutions and Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

• Previous experience in next generation sequencing validation procedures.

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with an emphasis on root cause analysis and process improvement

To be considered for this opportunity we are looking for:

Bachelor's in Medical Technology or related field with 4+ years of experience in next generation sequencing clinical laboratory with direct involvement in operations. Must also have a valid full New York State Technologist License or in Genetic Testing (Clinical Laboratory Technologist License)
