Overview

Responsible for the accurate and timely performance of routine and some complex (under supervision) laboratory procedures.

This is a full-time opportunity (1.0 FTE, 80 hrs/ pay period) to work 10 hour overnight shifts, seven days on and seven days off, including rotating holidays

Responsibilities/Job Description

  • Performs routine and complex (under supervision) tests per department policy and procedure, ensuring accurate and reliable laboratory results

  • Communicates difficult or unusual requests, results, or test follow-up that is necessary to ensure timely completion of the procedure

  • Notifies appropriate caregiver of significant or critical value test results per department policy

  • Performs computer and clerical functions to ensure accurate test ordering and reporting of patient results

  • Performs and documents maintenance and troubleshooting procedures on laboratory instrumentation to ensure proper operation

  • Makes appropriate decisions based on the quality control results in regard to patient testing. Notifies appropriate lead or supervisory staff when problems occur

  • Performs specimen collection to ensure the accurate and appropriate performance of patient testing while maintaining patient dignity, comfort and confidentiality

  • Communicates errors to immediate supervisor or designee and completes appropriate section on Quality Event forms when errors are found

  • Maintains knowledge of, and complies with, all relevant laws, regulations, policies, procedures and standards

  • Actively participates in creating and implementing improvements

  • Performs other responsibilities as needed/assigned

Qualifications

Required:

  • Associates degree and completion of an accredited CLT / MLT program or equivalent

  • Either ASCP or AMT Certified Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) or ASCP Certified Clinical Lab Technician (CLT) or eligible to sit for ASCP exam. Certification must be completed within one year of hire

  • Comprehensive knowledge of routine and complex laboratory procedures, techniques, and instruments

Preferred:

  • 1 year of hospital clinical laboratory experience performing routine laboratory testing

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES * Drive adoption and usage of the CorPath single-use sterile cassette at installed base hospital sites by providing continuous training, case support and ongoing presence. Assists in the development and execution of regional hospital staff training courses * Coach existing CorPath users to further increase their robotic-assisted PCI skills * Broaden user base at each site adding and training new physician/clinician users of the CorPath system * Assists in advancing revenue and market position consistent with Company goals. Achieves deep and thorough account penetration and assist in developing new target accounts * Serve as the first line of service (as needed) to current and future customer. Have a technical understanding of the product and the ability to trouble shoot any product technical challenges * Maintains up-to-date and accurate sales records. Input data and information into CRM database * Process and monitor product complaint per company procedures * Performs other duties as required DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE * Bachelor's degree or equivalent training and/or experience * At least 3 years of experience in a clinical Cath Lab or operating room environment * Ability to work in radiation field wearing necessary lead protection garments * Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing * Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with persons contacted in the course of performing assigned duties * Ability to maintain confidentiality as well as ability to exercise independent judgment consistent with department guidelines * Ability to travel 50% of the time required At Siemens Healthineers, we value those who dedicate their energy and passion to a greater cause.
