Under the direction of the Laboratory Education Coordinator and responsible supervision of a CLS, the CLS trainee performs moderate and high complexity testing in areas of Blood Bank, Chemistry, Coagulation, Hematology, Microbiology, Serology, and Urinalysis following established laboratory procedures.
Bachelor's Degree (B.A or B.S) from a four year accredited univeristy in Chemistry, Biology, or a related field which meets the requirements of CA Department of Public Health (CDPH)- Lab Field Services (LFS)
Concurrent enrollment in either SJSU or SFSU CLS graduate program
Approved for Clinical Laboratory Scientist Trainee License through CDPH-LFS
Above avereage communication and organizational skills
Must have medical terminology, basic computer terminology, and data entry skills
