Join the Laboratory team at the Mayo Clinic Health System in Fairmont, MN. This position is a full time evening shift.

The 10 hour shifts are Monday through Thursday, 4:00pm to 2:30am, with evening shift weekend rotation every 4th weekend. We are a team of 21 laboratory professionals that provide laboratory services to the hospital, emergency department, labor and delivery, inpatient, surgical and clinic providers. We are staffed 24 hours per day and pride ourselves in maintaining a supportive and innovative department that puts the needs of the patient first. We align with the Mayo Clinic Laboratory and Pathology Service Line to achieve standardization and top notch service to our team here in Fairmont.

Position description

Preforms analyses on biological specimens, e.g. blood and urine, to aid health care providers in the diagnosis and treatment of patients. Participates in the operational support activities necessary to maintain and optimize testing capabilities.

Qualifications

For MT-Baccalaureate Degree in Medical Technology, Medical/Clinical Laboratory Science, or health related field. Completion of a clinical laboratory internship required.

A HEW certificate may be substituted for the specified degree. Applicants with a Baccalaureate Degree in a science or health related field with completion of a clinical laboratory internship or clinical laboratory experience will be considered in the appropriate field of study (i.e. Microbiology).

For MLT- Associate's degree from an accredited Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) program or U.S. military Medical Laboratory-training program.

Visa sponsorship is not available for this position; Also, Mayo Clinic DOES NOT participate in the F-1 STEM OPT extension program.

Requires CV/Resume, unofficial transcript(s), and for foreign trained lab personnel to provide a detailed equivalency evaluation to include US equivalent degree at the applicants expense.

Additional qualifications

Experience working in a medical field preferred. Moderate to advanced computer skills.

Possess good written and oral communications skills. Ability to prioritize work, manage time wisely, and adjust to changes in work volumes and projects. Phlebotomy experience preferred. Willingness to travel to other MCHS locations for assignments as needed.

Compensation Detail

Education, experience and tenure may be considered along with internal equity when job offers are extended. The minimum pay rate is $20.95 per hour for MLT and $26.08 for MT
