Clinical Lab Assistant III

Job Summary: The laboratory assistant III is responsible for collecting blood and urine specimens from pediatric patients and for the timely initial processing of specimens for laboratory testing and microbiology set-up.

Position Requirements: Minimum Education: High School or equivalent

Minimum Experience:

1 year phlebotomy experience. Phlebotomy certificate required.

Preferred Education:

Basic college courses.# Skills

Abilities:

Moderate knowledge of medical terminology.

Must be able to communicate in a positive and effective manner with all ages of pediatric patients and patient

####s parents Must be capable of performing precise repetitive and consistent manipulations with patient samples

. Must be able to process data with extreme accuracy and thoroughness. Must be able to lift 25 pounds.

Must be able to work weekends. Physical Requirements:# Sit: Up to 8 hours/day# Stand/Walk:

Up to 6 hours/day# Bend/Stoop: Up to 6 hours/day

Reach:

Up to 6 hours# Rep Use of UE/Grasp: Up to 8 hrs# Lift/Push/Pull: 25lbs, over 25# with assistance or equipment.
