The Clinical Intervention Specialist provides school-based therapeutic, case management and consultation services for a caseload of children and families working within partnering K-8 schools. The Clinical Intervention Specialist coordinates services delivered at the school site and supports faculty and staff in including students successfully in diverse settings by providing teacher coaching, modeling and professional development opportunities. The Clinical Intervention Specialist works collaboratively with classroom teachers, school leadership and the Multi-Tiered System of Support (MTSS) implementation team to maintain the academic, social and emotional needs of each student.

  • Work effectively as a member of a multi-disciplinary team implementing academic, behavioral, and therapeutic services for students in need of intervention

  • Provide coaching and professional development to support school staff in experiencing success with all students

  • Implement research-based interventions aligned with the three tiers of the MTSS pyramid, including individual, group, and family therapy and case management for identified students

  • Document interventions provided and provide necessary reports on student progress

  • Engage caregivers in the educational process, providing frequent opportunities to discuss student growth and needs

  • Provide consultation to school staff on safety assessments, mental health crises, and accessing social service

  • Participate in regular supervision session and professional learning communities to enhance practice and increase coherence

  • Maintain a high standard of professional behavior at all times

  • Perform all other duties as necessary for the good of the agency as requested by supervisor


  • Master's degree in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, or related field

  • Bilingual skills in Spanish and English a plus

  • Registered or licensed with the California BBS

  • 3+ years of experience working with youth in a mental health or educational setting

  • Valid California driver's license, clean record, and insurability with Seneca's automobile policy

  • Clearance of TB test, fingerprints, and any other state or federal requirements

Essential Responsibilities: Establishes and monitors care standards and makes recommendations for changes in area of clinical practice. Collaborates with nursing staff in assessing patient, family age-specific nursing needs and develops plan of care for complex high-risk patients.Evaluates the effectiveness of the care provided.Designs teaching programs for patients/families and provides assistance to nursing staff in program implementation. Develops interdisciplinary plans of care for complex and high risk patients. In conjunction with members of the health care team, assesses staff knowledge and identifies competency-based education needs of staff and members.Designs and implements education programs to ensure the quality of staff knowledge and skills. Introduces new techniques/innovation based on advanced practice trends. May serve as a preceptor to graduate healthcare students.Provides consultation to physicians, nurses and other health care providers in meeting care needs of individual or groups of patients in both outpatient and inpatient settings.Makes recommendations to change standards of care or standards of practice based on own research or the research of others.Defines and implements best nursing practices.
