MAIN FUNCTION: Under supervision of the Manager of Griffin Hospital School of Allied Health Careers, the Clinical Instructor will maintain a flexible schedule with the responsibility for facilitating instruction of both the Phlebotomy and Medical Assisting in-person and hybrid programs in the classroom and clinical setting as needed. Assistant may supervise students at clinical sites, proctor students for national testing, and attend various open house/career fairs. Perform clerical duties as necessary and have a high attention to detail and organizational skills.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:
Instructional needs for on-campus and hybrid programs in both Phlebotomy and Medical Assisting.
Proficient in clinical aspects of phlebotomy, medical assisting and always maintains a safe clinical environment.
Oversees clinical externships for the Phlebotomy program at the Outpatient Labs as needed. Assists in Medical Assisting clinicals for GFP offices.
Maintains responsibility for attendance/reliability to ensure that the Hospital is operated in an efficient and cost effective manner.
Contributes to the mission of the organization by supporting the Employee Philosophy, Planetree Model of Care, and Organizational Goals.
Prepare syllables and outlines for each class
Provide tutoring and maintain open dialog with student who may need extra help
Presents subject matter to students, utilizing a variety of methods and techniques, such as lectures, discussions, or demonstrations.
Assists students, individually or in groups, with lesson assignments to present or reinforce learning concepts; responds to basic student questions. Integrates technology throughout the curriculum.
EDUCATION: High school diploma or equivalent, certification in phlebotomy, medical assisting and/or CNA preferred.
EXPERIENCE: 5 years or more experience as a Phlebotomist, Medical Assistant.
