Clinical Instructor Lead

We are searching for an experienced Clinical Instructor Lead at our Nalanda Campus facility.

FTE: 100% (40 hrs/week)

Compensation: $62,000

Job Summary

Oversight of Clinical Instruction in MA Somatic Counseling Program. This includes meeting with instructors of internship and practicum classes, managing Clinical Instructor team, and acting as a liaison between MA Somatic Counseling and the GSCP Clinical Placement Team.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

Administrative Leadership Duties:

  • Provide weekly supervision of supervision to Clinical Instructor(s) in somatic department.

  • Organize, manage and participate in Gateway processes for 1st and 2nd year students. Including facilitating gathering of faculty feedback and organization of clearance process for students to begin applying for practicum and internship

  • Participate in reporting, documenting and facilitation of notices of student concerns as needed.

  • Work with GSCP Clinical Placement team to track and implement any paperwork updates. Including making updates to clinical courses syllabi, Canvas, Sharepoint, check lists, and communicating this to course instructors.

  • Participate in review of clinical placement sites/ community partners with CLD.

Student Supervision Duties:

  • Per ADTA accreditation requirements provide at least 10 hours (5 direct, 5 indirect) of individual Clinical Instruction to each student during their Internship - Maximum of 12 students per course per semester

oOversee the intern's placement and meet formally with the site supervisor and the intern at the beginning and the middle of the internship placement.

oWork in conjunction with Internship class instructors to ensure that all student paperwork is complete and submitted on time.

oComplete evaluations of students in internship placement. Mid semester and as needed.

Leadership Team Duties:

  • Attend weekly MA Somatic Counseling faculty meetings

  • Teach at least one course per academic year (4 credits)

  • Participate in Interviews and other Admissions events

  • Participate in curriculum planning and development

Minimum requirements:

  • MA in Clinical Mental Health Counseling or a related degree.

  • Successful completion of ONE of the following:

o A minimum of a two-credit-hour graduate course on clinical supervision from a CACREP accredited or equivalent program: OR

o A minimum of six clock-hours of clinical supervision training that includes all of the following content areas: (a) Role and functions of clinical supervisors; (b) Models and methods of clinical supervision; (c) Supervisory relationship issues; (d) Cultural issues in clinical supervision; (e) Group supervision; (f) Legal and ethical issues in clinical supervision; and (g) Evaluation of supervisee competency and the supervision process; OR

o Approved Clinical Supervisor (ACS) certification from the Center for Credentialing and Education (CCE); or

o A doctorate in Counselor Education and Supervision from a CACREP accredited or equivalent program or other counseling doctorates that have a supervision component.

  • Three professional development hours per renewal period specific to clinical supervision.

Minimum length of prior applicable professional experience required:

  • A minimum of 3 years' experience supervising student interns/practicum students or unlicensed clinicians.
  • A minimum of 3 years teaching experience at the Graduate level

  • Must have experience in Somatic Counseling

Professional license(s)/certification(s) required:

  • Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) credential
  • BC-DMT; Board Certified Dance/ Movement Therapist Credential

Physical Requirements & Environmental Conditions:

In the classrooms and on campus may experience: interruptions, distractions, heat, cold, dust and/or dampness. As a graduate assistant, you may spend extended periods time with any of the following:

  • Reading academic texts and materials, student papers, etc.

  • Operating personal computer and audio-visual equipment.

  • Standing or sitting for hours at a time.

  • Moving around campus for classes and meetings.

Employees who work fewer than 20 hours per week are eligible to participate in Naropa's retirement plan only, which includes up to 2.5% employer matching.

All regular full-time and part-time faculty and staff, including student workers, accrue sick leave benefits. Full-time and part-time staff positions accrue vacation and personal time. All leave accrual rates vary based on the position, hours worked, and years of service.
