GENERAL SUMMARY: # Oversees the strategy, planning, development, and operations of the clinical innovation function at all Bryan Health entities. Works closely with key business stakeholders throughout the enterprise to ensure that appropriate digital solutions are provided and meet desired goals. Responsible for the oversight and coordination including the design, development, maintenance, and support of the clinical digital solutions created by these teams. Responsible for creating a culture of clinical innovation across the system. Accelerates the realization of efficiencies through successful user adoption of digital technologies. Oversees efforts to harness the ingenuity and creativity of team members to improve operations and clinical care. # Reports to the System Vice President/Chief Nursing Officer. Additionally, works closely with the Chief Medical Officer and the System Vice President/Chief Information Officer. # The matrix leadership has been organized to foster innovation effectiveness across key organizational stakeholders. # # PRINCIPAL JOB FUNCTIONS: # 1. *Commits to the mission, vision, beliefs and consistently demonstrates our core values. 2. *In collaboration with IT and clinical leadership, creates, defines, communicates, and implements a clinical innovation vision, priorities, and plan. 3. *Establishes and maintains relationships with key stakeholders across Bryan Health. 4. Develops and executes a comprehensive clinical innovation strategy aligned with the organization#s goals and objectives. 5. *Leads the implementation and optimization of digital systems and tools to ensure seamless integration and efficient utilization across clinical departments. 6. *Collaborates with clinical and operational leadership to identify opportunities for leveraging technology to enhance patient safety, clinical outcomes, and operational efficiency. 7. *Works closely with senior and clinical leadership across all Bryan entities to understand their clinical digital innovation needs and helps coordinate enterprise clinical innovation efforts. 8. Defines vision and strategic plans for the clinical digital innovation program. 9. In collaboration with IT, manages applicable vendor (tools and services) relationships. 10. Manages the long-term strategic goals for the clinical innovations program in conjunction with data users, department managers, clients, and other key stakeholders. 11. *Serves as a liaison between clinical stakeholders and the IT department to facilitate effective communication and collaboration on clinical initiatives. 12. *Conducts and leads research and makes recommendations on clinical innovation products, services, protocols, and standards in support of procurement and development efforts. 13. *Oversees the evaluation, recommendations, and selection of clinical innovation components and tools. 14. Supports internal strategic planning and problem-solving through clinical innovation. 15. *Responsible for blending clinical care delivery with artificial intelligence, and computer, social and behavioral sciences. 16. Collaborates with IT and clinical leadership to explore and implement emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence, machine learning, and predictive analytics to improve clinical efficiencies, clinical decision-making, and patient care. 17. *Develops and deploys sound, clinically relevant technology solutions that promote standardization and high quality, efficient patient care. 18. Works in partnership with information technology project teams to translate clinician requirements into specifications for new clinical systems, communicates change and drives adoption of new implementations. 19. Works with the System CNO and nursing leadership to ensure an integrated and effective clinical workflow across disciplines in all clinically related digital systems. 20. Creates a clinical innovation strategy that is understood and endorsed by key stakeholders including executive leadership and employees. 21. Manages customer, stakeholder, and vendor relationships and expectations. 22. Implements clinical innovation tools that are part of Epic Foundation which support current business needs and positions Bryan Health to meet strategic goals. When Epic Foundation does not meet the needs, a decision document will be created to support deviation from Foundation. 23. Co-Chairs (with CNO) clinical advisory group in the prioritization and design of clinical systems to support excellence in patient care. 24. Participates in the development and revision of hospital policies, procedures/standards related to clinical information systems. 25. *Engages outside of the organization in forums and user groups to share Bryan Health initiatives and successes, and to stay informed of industry trends in order to leverage the accomplishments of other organizations. 26. Reviews clinical innovation trends, experiences, and approaches, develops technical and application implementation strategies and assists in the development of strategic plans for clinical information systems. 27. Has a high tolerance for ambiguity and can work successfully in a matrix management model. 28. *Collaborates with IT staff and Operations to coordinate resources, resolve issues and develop improved processes for patient care.


EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:


Minimally master#s degree through an accredited institution in Healthcare, Informatics, Information Systems, or other related field required. Doctorate in Healthcare, Informatics, Information Systems, or other related field preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience required. # Minimum of five (5) years of applicable experience working with a hospital or clinic electronic health record (EHR) required.
