POSITION SUMMARY Reports To: Director of IT Summary:
Manages and executes the implementation and ongoing application maintenance and support of the clinical information systems and associated applications. Is an expert in problem analysis and the impact of decisions and planning in clinical application processes.
Performs a number of technical functions, such as troubleshooting, testing the integrity of medical data, assuring compliance with privacy regulations, researching new systems and installing, configuring and maintaining software, building and maintaining orders, order sets, charge functions, enhancements, product updates and upgrades.
Communication skills to confer with medical and non-medical staffers about their evolving needs. Communicate with vendors about possible solutions to system problems.
Provide technical training to new and existing employees.
Intense focus on Ambulatory (Physician Practices) and related Outpatient Departments. Responsible for managing projects. Work Schedule:
Must be able to work non-standard hours if needed and willing to rotate on-call duties. SKILLS # ABILITIES Education Associate#s Degree required, Bachelor#s degree preferred. Experience Must be a Registered Nurse or other registered clinical staff.
EMR implementations and or Healthcare IT and HIPAA compliance preferred Implementation and or supporting Meditech EMR highly desirable Computer Skills Proficient in Microsoft#Office, email and basic computer skills for other software used throughout the hospital for your area of responsibility. Knowledge of Microsoft Office, Email and EMR software Certificates # Licenses Valid driver#s license required. Other Requirements Must be able to communicate effectively with IT peers and clinical staff to deliver support and solutions to issues based on our policies, protocols, and end user needs.
Must have the ability to support end users with varying education and learning abilities Nursing degree with clinical experience, aptitude and willingness to become familiar with information technology.
Must understand the workflow within a healthcare organization and be able to complete workflow analysis, design, build, test and implement solutions. Must be proficient with simple queries and reporting. #Understanding of the workflow within a healthcare organization.
Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to respond in a timely manner and meeting of deadlines on day-to-day issues as well as with projects. Project management experience is a plus. This position requires frequent walking, occasional sitting, ability to squat or kneel, ability to lift/carry up to 50 pounds and push/pull up to 12 pounds.#
