Providence St. Joseph Health is calling a Clinical Informatics Pharmacist PSJH to our location in Santa Monica, CA.

We are seeking a Clinical Informatics Pharmacist to be a subject matter expert that works independently to manage pharmacy modules and components of the EHR, clinical decision support and pharmacy-specific information systems associated with medication use. They participate in a collaborative effort with key contributors and other informatics pharmacists, to design and develop effective pharmacy workflow, operational processes and system functions to drive optimal outcomes and efficiencies. They support leadership decision making by data gathering and conducting sophisticated analysis. They implement change to align with patient safety, strategic and regulatory goals. They are effective communicators for varying audiences from clinicians to executive leadership and vendors.

They develop and maintain close relationships with key contributors, which include system and operational leadership, front line staff, governance groups, multi-disciplinary staff, and vendors. They collaborate to prioritize demands, set appropriate expectations, establish appropriate metrics and targets, and manage change implementation.

In this position you will have the following responsibilities:

  • Provides technical and application expertise and recommends processes and/or procedures for enhancements, and modifications to improve existing pharmacy systems.

  • Responds to improvement needs in the functional operation of the pharmacy computer systems.

  • Collaborates and documents system design and workflow processes of system needs for clinical management, staff, and providers.

  • Functions as a liaison between these stakeholders and the system build teams.

  • Provides technical and application expertise to design, analyze, and optimize clinical information systems.

  • Ensures system design achieves Health System objectives of standardization, integration, and efficiency and supports compliance with policies and procedures, legal and regulatory requirements.

  • Shares knowledge and expertise with team members.

  • Works collaboratively with the education team to develop change communication and training materials. Obtains approval where required.

  • Performs routine maintenance; assists with testing updates and new releases prior to production use.

Required qualifications for this position include:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Pharmacy.

  • 3 years of related experience.

  • Current license as a Registered Pharmacist where assigned, upon hire.

Preferred qualifications for this position include:

  • Ph.D. in Pharmacy or equivalent.

  • Familiarity with systems and applications. Residency training in pharmacy practice, drug information or pharmacy administration or equivalent.

  • Advanced computer hardware and software expertise.

  • Technology related certification upon hire.

We are seeking a RN Clinical Program Manager who will be responsible for collaboration, development, implementation and ongoing evaluation of programs / systems that enhance professional practice outcomes within the healthcare medical team. Share accountability for oversight of education, clinical practice and safety protocols in conjunction with implementation of new standards of care. Role models proactive, values driven working relationships across the organization in an interdisciplinary approach to patient care. Assure practice is in accordance with JCAHO standards, State and Federal regulatory criteria and professional practice / scope of practice. Develop effective relationships to lead, role model, collaborate and effectuate change. Participate and guide in the selection and hiring of key clinical positions within the division. In this position you will: * Take direction from Clinical Operations and collaborates with operations for all clinical processes, competencies, safety, infection prevention, and clinical care initiatives to provide consistent practices and standards of care at assigned ministry. * Continually assess compliance and make recommendations regarding current policies, procedures, standards of care, education and safety practices so that they are consistent across the organization. (Promotes excellence in patient care / safety consistent with knowledge of NCQA, OSHA and governing regulatory agencies identified by practice standards, skill validation and proficiency of the staff.). * Facilitate / lead clinical competency program, work safety, patient safety, scope of practice compliance and initiates educational opportunities and staff development. * Communicate and interact effectively with supervisors, managers, directors and administration to assess and develop action plans to enhance clinical processes. Attend various meetings as appropriate and contributes ideas for improving efficiency, productivity, and patient satisfaction.
