GENERAL DUTIES

  • Understands system's functionality, reporting capabilities, interfacing and integration associated with applications assigned. Uses various imaging computer workstations and multiple post processing software and hardware solutions to support and process multi-planar reformatted 3D images from volumetric scans.

  • Diagnoses and provides preemptive solutions to any issues with systems by utilizing organization's support services. Works closely with Cardiology department such as non-invasive cardiology, radiology section chiefs to develop post-processing protocols as well as provides back up support for PACS.

  • Assists team members with maximizing the standardized and consistent use of Epic and other applications through support of the software as designed.

  • Works with end users and stakeholders to identify system enhancement opportunities. Develops related technical and user specifications and tracks requests to the vendor. Maintains the PACS network by providing the administration of file servers, peripherals, other related hardware, and software.

  • Sets up user security levels and passwords of applications.

  • Implements, tests, validates upgrades, ensuring proper interaction and interfacing with other related systems.

  • Participates in project planning and manages assigned projects to ensure implementation.

  • Communicates changes, revisions, new services, information to staff in written form and at meetings.

  • Provides on-the-job training to junior team members.

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION QUALIFICATIONS

Appropriate combination of education and work experience is required:

  • Graduate from an accredited Radiology program in Radiologic Technology (including training from United States Armed Forces) and or 2 (two) years of experience in a related field.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  • Knowledge of Radiology principles and imaging techniques as they apply to the daily operation of the department.

  • Complete working knowledge of radiographic equipment in the department as it relates to the operation and interaction with PACS.

  • Ability to collect, analyze, distribute statistical reports to provide required information and the ability to draw conclusions from the results and suggest ways to improve and resolve issues.

  • Maintains a current knowledge of new methods/technology and industry trends that may affect the HLM and PACS network.

  • Ability to control and maintain all data entered, ensuring the accuracy and completion of data.

  • Good organizational skills with emphasis on communication and computer skills.

  • Aptitude and ability with attention to detail.

  • Demonstrate an initiative to complete all tasks.

  • Ability to establish and maintain a collaborative working relationship with others.
