LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRATION:

Required: Current clinical licensure/certification in Nursing, Respiratory Therapy, Pharmacy, Laboratory, Radiology, or other ancillary clinical disciplines.

EDUCATION:

Required: Associate's degree in a clinical specialty, information technology, or related field.

Preferred: Bachelor's degree in a clinical specialty, information technology, or related field

WORK EXPERIENCE:

Required: Minimum of two (2) years of experience working as a licensed/certified clinical professional in a clinical setting using an EMR.

Minimum of two (2) years recent healthcare clinical informatics or clinical applications analyst experience.

Preferred: Prior experience with Cerner solutions is an advantage. Organizational workflow experience.

Demonstrated success in working with change management. Experience with or willingness to speak in front of audiences in order to train or educate, as well as comfort with giving one-on-one support to clinical end-users. Experience with implementing clinical applications across a project life cycle, including planning, designing, testing, educating and supporting functions.

Responsible for all front-end laboratory processes including phlebotomy, specimen processing, sendout/referred testing. Responsible for the quality and quantity of work performed by phlebotomists, lab assistants and non-technical support staff. Will oversee all aspects of reference lab/send-out testing. RESPONSIBILITIES: Analytical ability to define functional, unit or service procedures, to independently oversee the application of methods, guides, and processes, to apply sound judgment in choosing proper course of action among multiple options, to interpret policies, to assist in planning short to mid-range goals and determining measures, and to assess and monitor progress toward Laboratory Services goal attainment. Communication and/or interpersonal skills for contact with internal and external customers/stakeholders to manage concerns of clients, technical departments and employees in a professional manner and in accordance with HR and Laboratory policies. Some discretion must be exercised in deciding what and how to communicate. Conflict resolution skills are exercised and occasionally on an interdepartmental or inter functional basis. Diplomacy, tact and listening skills are required. Ability to read and comprehend policies and technical materials in the Laboratory area is necessary. Technical and non-technical knowledge of laboratory operations and processes, including phlebotomy and specimen collection. Working Knowledge of computer applications with special focus on word and spreadsheet applications. Demonstrated understanding and application of process improvement skills and concepts. Qualifications: EDUCATION: High School Graduate or equivalent. EXPERIENCE: 3 years of phlebotomy or specimen processing (pre-analytic) experience with increasing responsibility in an acute care facility. REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURE: Phlebotomy Certification where state law requires. PREFERRED CERTIFICATIONS/REGISTRATION: Completion of formal phlebotomy training program and/or national phlebotomy certification through ASCP, ANP, ASPT or similar preferred. SUPERVISES: May have Supervisory Responsibilities.
