Compensation: $63,000

Status: Flexible Start Summer 2024

Antioch University's Graduate School of Counseling, Psychology, and Therapy invites applications for a full-time Clinical Mental Health Counseling (CMHC) Clinical Faculty member for our New England (AUNE) program. Come join our progressive team in our low-res program model program with a concentration in Art Therapy. This Clinical Faculty position will be responsible for teaching Art Therapy and CMHC Classes. The CMHC Program is a CACREP-accredited program. The CMHC, Art Therapy Concentration program is an online, low residency program that includes synchronous online courses and three required intensive residency experiences in the Spring semester. The Clinical Faculty will have responsibility primarily for engagement in student learning through course instruction and related student advisement. Other activities in support of student learning may include course development, course revisions, admissions work, and assist with CAAHEP and CACREP accreditation processes. Additionally, this Clinical Faculty will focus on the development, support and coordination of the Student Culminating Projects given the clinical and research focus that these projects have. The Clinical Faculty member will carry a course load of 6- 8 courses divided over the Fall, Spring and/or Summer Semesters. Courses may include Developmental & Trauma-Informed Art Therapy, Techniques & Practices, Art Therapy in Diverse Settings, Couples & Family Therapy, Group Counseling, and History & Theory of Art Therapy, among others. There will be no scholarship or service requirement. The Clinical Faculty position carries a workload that includes 80% student engagement.

Antioch University has been educating counselors for over 40 years and has a network of alumni throughout the country who serve as many of our field supervisors and employers. Faculty are expected to engage in pedagogy and practices that reflect the social justice mission of the university.

Position Overview

The position has responsibilities that include:

  • Direct instruction of 24 credits per academic year

  • Teaching schedule includes Fall, Spring, and Summer Semesters

  • Supports the organization and delivery of residency through pre-residency planning in collaboration with the CD and attendance at the residency

  • Assists with accreditation processes

  • Engaging in program, department, campus, and school/university citizenship

  • Engaging in ongoing department and program initiatives, particularly related to improvements in pedagogy and student engagement

  • Incorporating a social justice lens into pedagogical, content, and clinical approaches

  • Program Development through collaboration with undergraduate institutions and community based organizations to support enrollment and community connection

Educational and Experiential Requirements and Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Art Therapy or related field from a regionally accredited institution, PhD preferred

  • Earned credentials of registered, board-certified art therapist (ATR-BC)

  • Licensed art therapist and/or licensed counselor credentials

  • At least three years of professional clinical experience and graduate teaching experience

  • Commitment to social justice and advocacy underpinned by the American Counseling Association's (2015) Multicultural and Social Justice Counseling Competencies and the American Art Therapy Association's (2011) Multicultural and Diversity Competencies

Preferred Qualifications

Preferred qualifications include:

  • Experience in online teaching and pedagogy/andragogy

  • Knowledge of ACATE, CAAHEP standards and program evaluation
