Under general supervision from the River People Health Center Administrator, the Clinical Engineer will oversee all aspects of equipment acquisition planning, installation and testing and outside vendor management and clinical engineering services, including performing rounds on clinical (patient care) units to verify proper equipment use and operation. Develop and monitor compliance with equipment preventive maintenance schedules. This position plays a crucial role in ensuring the optimal functioning of our clinical equipment, contributing to the quality of patient care in our ambulatory healthcare clinic. This job class is treated as FLSA Exempt.

Examples of Tasks
1.Technical Support- Provide technical support for clinical equipment maintenance, including scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, parts inventory management, and conducting rounds in customer areas. May participate in an on-call rotation.
Troubleshooting problems with equipment or processes to identify their causes and solutions
Developing, testing, and implementing new technologies in clinical settings
Performing preventive maintenance on equipment, such as replacing filters or lubricating moving parts
2.Project Coordination- Collaborate on special projects, such as equipment acquisition planning, bid specification development, vendor proposal analysis, installation planning, acceptance testing, equipment upgrades, and disposal.
3.Preventative Maintenance- Develop and manage preventive maintenance schedules and guidelines. Train technical staff on proper testing and maintenance procedures for department-maintained devices.
4.Quality Assurance- Contribute to department and system-wide quality assurance initiatives related to patient care equipment use and maintenance. Generate reports based on data assessment and conduct quality audits as needed.
5.Perform other job-related duties as assigned to enhance departmental operations.

Minimum Qualifications
Education: A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university, in electrical, clinical or biomedical engineering is required. Master of Science degree in biomedical engineering with a clinical engineering concentration is preferred.
Experience: Five (5) years professional clinical engineering experience required
Preferred Certifications: Certified Clinical Engineer (CCE), Certified Biomedical Equipment Technician (CBET), Certified Healthcare Technology Manager (CHTM), and Cybersecurity Certifications related to healthcare cybersecurity
Experience working with Native Americans strongly preferred.
Equivalency: Any equivalent combination of education and experience that will allow the applicant to satisfactorily perform the duties of the job may be considered when filling the position.
Underfill Eligibility: An enrolled Community Member whom closely qualifies for the minimum qualifications for a position may be considered for employment under SRPMIC Policy 2-19, Underfill.
Special Requirements
May be required to work beyond normal work hours including nights, weekends and holidays.
Must possess and maintain a valid Arizona Driver's License.
