Position is responsible for administering clinical development programs that allow for SEARHC to grow our own clinical talent in areas like CNA's, Medical Assistants, Dental Assistants, and Behavioral Health Aides. Additionally, this position is responsible for partnering with clinical leaders to establish standardized clinical competencies and to support the evaluation and completion of those competencies in a way that supports policy and accreditation standards.

Key Essential Functions and Accountabilities of the Job

  • Partners with relevant external agencies to establish and provide regularly scheduled clinical and behavioral health training programs.

  • Selects and implements curriculum for training programs in areas where SEARHC will develop our own program for clinical trainings.

  • Standardizes and streamlines SEARHC's clinical competency program.

  • Partners with all clinical leaders to establish and implement training programs that support their divisional objectives, improve patient quality of care, and support employee growth and retention.

  • Collaborates with SEARHC leaders on ways to best meet our strategic goals around staffing, recruitment, and retention.

  • Acts a s key member of the HR Learning and Development program and functions within the framework of the SEARHC Learning Center pillars of Leadership, Integration, Career Progression, and Quality of Care.

Education, Certifications, and Licenses Required

  • Current full, unrestricted Registered Nursing license in Alaska or other U.S. state required. Direct Hire must have applied for an Alaska nursing license before start date. Agency staff must have an active Alaska license.

  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.

  • BLS Certification.

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.

Experience Required

  • At least 3 years working in direct patient care.

  • Experience in an inpatient or LTC setting preferred.

  • Experience as a clinical trainer or leader preferred.

Knowledge of

  • Hospital Accreditation.

  • Electronic Health Records.

Skills in

  • Training and leading groups.

  • Oral/written interpersonal communication.

Ability to

  • Work independently with limited supervision.

  • Collaborate and work with a team.

Required Certifications:

Basic Life Support (BLS)

  • American Heart Association, Registered Nurse License

  • State of Alaska

  • Alaska State Board of Nursing
