Position Description

The principle objective of the Clinical Education department is to develop strategic clinical initiatives based on customer needs to improve patient outcomes. Clinical education specialists collaborate with both internal and external customers to develop and deliver customized training solutions.

Develop Field Strategies

  • Establish and maintain effective communication strategies that foster collaboration and alignment with Field team leadership to empower the adoption of Applied Medical's technologies

  • Support the execution of strategic plans and disseminate clinical resources for medical education initiatives

  • Assist with the identification and recruitment of key decision-makers within target systems for training

  • Prioritize education-related business opportunity requests that align with strategic goals

  • Lead meetings and deliver presentations with a high degree of skill, conveying appropriate messages to all levels of facility administration

Educate Surgeons

  • Coordinate and manage hands-on and didactic courses, create or modify course content, and collaborate with physician faculty members and key opinion leaders

  • Understand and ensure compliance with regulatory policies and procedures relating to educational programs

  • Attend educational events, regional shows and exhibits

Improve Outcomes

  • Take ownership of (that is, demonstrate leadership and accountability for) tracking procedural adoption and providing educational resources to new and trained customers

  • Apply metrics to educational activities to drive procedural adoption

  • Demonstrate strong knowledge of common minimally invasive surgery procedures as well as anatomy, OR equipment and competitive information and practices

Position Requirements

  • A minimum of three to five years of medical device sales experience with a proven track record of continuous sales success

  • Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to work with and manage cross-functional teams

  • The ability to effectively communicate with a large sales team in a timely manner

  • A strong entrepreneurial drive coupled with self-initiative and an independent, goal-oriented approach

  • A customer-centered, solution-oriented frame of reference

  • A demonstrated ability to make timely, well-reasoned decisions and adapt to shifting priorities and competing demands

  • A flexible personality, disposed to working well on a team

  • Excellent computer skills and written and verbal communication skills

  • Willingness to make frequent trips to customer clinics, hospitals, and off-site meetings (travel time may vary, depending on your territory)

  • A bachelor's degree

As a Nursing Education Specialist, you will be home-based ideally in Dallas or Houston TX, or St. Louis or Kansas City, MO. You will be providing implementation and best practice education for the purpose of helping customers best use digital products within their curricula. You will also be improving customer satisfaction and retention in using Elsevier digital products with a strong focus on HESI products and HESI Exam data. In this position, you will: * Provide post-sale user product implementation education sessions for nursing faculty. * Consult with and present sessions virtually and in-person for nursing faculty. * Assist customers implementing e-products into their curriculum through a variety of means including sharing best practices. * Help nursing faculty develop teaching strategies that drive student engagement. * Provide product and market feedback to marketing and product development teams. * Communicate sales opportunities to the sales team and collaborate with key internal partners and other stakeholders. * Develop content for delivery in white papers and Elsevier social media. * Assist with planning and in developing essential education materials for faculty. * Assist in developing advisory board/super user faculty teams to generate product development improvement objectives and ideas. What you should bring The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years experience using digital products teaching in a nursing education program. Experience teaching in a various nursing program types is preferred and must include experience in the BSN program environment. An MSN is required. In addition, the candidate will: * Demonstrate a high level of understanding and comfort with digital books, electronic health records (EHR), assessment tools, learning management systems, and other instructional technology, * Have experience presenting in formal and informal settings, with a dynamic personality and excellent presentation skills, * Be passionate about the ability of technology to transform education, * Be able to communicate clearly in virtual and in-person settings and possess strong written communication skills, * Possess a strong customer orientation and the ability to build effective relationships with customers, * Possess strong diplomatic and interpersonal skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure, * Demonstrate excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to manage multiple projects concurrently, * Be able to work collaboratively in teams, * Be willing and able to travel with up to 40% overnight travel required, and What we offer We welcome you to a truly global, dynamic, and challenging environment with great opportunities to develop yourself.
