This position is responsible for outreach, coordination, and facilitation of clinical staff education for internal and external customers, as well as initiating, nurturing, and maintaining collaborative relationships with academic partners. The position is responsible for coordinating and facilitating student placements. The position will participate as a member of the Clinical Staff Education department team in the development, implementation, and coordination of clinical education programs and quality improvement systems and processes. This position reports to the manager of Clinical Staff Education.
As a representative of University of Utah Health Clinical Staff Education department, initiates, nurtures, and maintains collaborative relationships with academic partners (colleges and schools of nursing, medicine, pharmacy, and allied sciences) within and outside University of Utah Health.
Manages, coordinates, and facilitates student clinical placements.
Promotes nursing education and professional development of University of Utah Health Hospitals and Clinics clinical staff.
Works collaboratively with nursing and clinical educators at affiliate hospitals and organizations.
Works in collaboration with the Outreach Network Development & Telehealth (OND&T) representative to manage, coordinate and facilitate participation of affiliate hospital and organizations in University of Utah Health and CSE programs.
Coordinates and facilitates offsite/outreach education program delivery.
Develops and maintains a close working relationship with the CSE leadership and Outreach Network Development & Telehealth and their respective teams.
Collates and presents data and analysis representing external placements.
Knowledge / Skills / Abilities
Ability to perform the essential functions of the job as outlined above.
Demonstrated interpersonal skills and the ability to conduct and participate effectively in meetings, speak effectively before groups, and/or teach classes.
Demonstrated proficiency in relevant software applications.
Expert level clinical skills, knowledge, and abilities, or clinical proficiency in combination with proficiency as an educator.
Ability to maintain required clinical competencies.
Ability to maintain required competencies as an educator.
Ability to travel.
Four years full time experience as a clinical RN.
Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing.
Basic Life Support Health Care Provider card through American Heart Association or obtain within one month of hire.
Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Utah, or obtain one within 90 days of hire under the interstate compact if switching residency to State of Utah. Must maintain current Interstate Compact (multi-state) license if residency is not being changed to Utah.

MSN degree with a focus on nursing education.
Clinical experience in an academic medical center.
Experience in clinical and academic education and healthcare leadership.
Experience in communications, marketing, sales, and/or hospitality.
