JOB ID:18292 Full time/ 12 month position The College of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences and the School of Education: The USFSM College of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences (CLASS) is composed of a fulltime faculty of 35, plus a corps of adjuncts.
It is composed of the School of Education, the Department of Liberal Arts, and the Department of Social Sciences, and coordinates the universitys Core Curriculum and Honors Program.
In the School of Education (SOE), 11 fulltime faculty and adjuncts deliver 2 undergraduate majors and 6 graduate degrees, as will a minor and certificate programs.
Both students and our partner schools benefit for the SOEs leadership in arts-integration best practices; faculty members collaborate with community partners in research and service projects that benefit our region.
See and Initial Teacher Preparation Program: Initial Teacher Preparation Programs or ITPs are offered by Florida postsecondary institutions to prepare instructional personnel resulting in qualification for an initial Florida Professional Educators Certificate.
Candidates of the ITP Program at the University of South Florida Sarasota-Manatee (USFSM) are working towards a Bachelors Degree in Elementary Education or a Masters of Arts in Teaching (MAT). With an Elementary Education degree from USF Sarasota-Manatee or a Masters of Arts in Teaching, candidates are prepared to meet the needs of diverse student learners through arts integration instructional strategies and English as a Second Language (ESOL) Endorsement.
Both programs are nationally and regionally accredited curriculum that is current, based on both research and standards.
Students enter the MAT program after completing baccalaureate degrees in fields other than education.

POSITION SUMMARY: The Clinical Coordinator Position (responsibilities occur during all three terms of the year) Responsible for field experiences, Clinical education in partnership with districts, Training of supervisors, Ensuring faculty who supervise are qualified (recency of experience), Monitoring and developing supports for graduates for first 3 years into teaching, Compliance with FLDOE rules pertinent to clinical). In partnership with the Coordinator of Assessment, ensure we meet and exceed state requirements Continue to build and sustain relationships with partnership schools and all clinical educational stakeholders including district personal.
Collaborate with the Arts Integration coordinator for professional development and assessment for university supervisors and interns POSITION QUALIFICATIONS: MINIMUM: Doctorate in discipline pertinent to educator preparation Minimum of 3 years teaching in K-12 setting Demonstrated success in communicating, collaborating with teachers as well as with school district or community leaders PREFERRED: 5 years teaching in K-12 setting Familiarity with arts integration as a teaching pedagogy Experience assessing teacher candidates or beginning teachers and scaffolding their growth Experience managing logistical details Experience in conducting professional development for educators Familiarity with Positive Behavior Intervention Support (PBIS) Experience in working with students of diverse backgrounds, including English Language Learners and students with exceptionalities.
