JOB SUMMARY/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: The Clinical Education Associate oversees the clinical education opportunities for allied health and advanced practice providers. This position serves as liaison and central point of contact for allied health (sonography, physical therapy, radiology, etc.) and advanced practice providers (nurse practitioner, physician assistant) students and affiliated educational institutions.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Monitors the existence of appropriate affiliation agreements.

  • Develops, manages, and coordinates a list of capacities for all learners and reports issues of capacity in accordance with UHS/UTGSM guidelines.

  • Verifies school insurance in accordance with affiliation agreement.

  • Develops and maintains a list of approved preceptors and serves as liaison to preceptors for approved NP's/PA's/allied health rotations.

  • Facilitates inter-professional education (IPE) and ensures the addition of any learners to established teaching services are approved through the UTGSM GME division.

  • Manages student onboarding and serves as the primary point of contact for affiliated students, UTMC/UTGSM faculty, and staff regarding student-related onboarding.

  • Serves as liaison to affiliated schools and their student coordinators for nurse practitioner/physician assistant/allied health rotations.

  • Directs students/affiliated coordinators to the appropriate program or site directors, including those on the UHS side, i.e., sonography, physical therapy, radiology, etc.

  • Ensures learner/preceptor complies with UHS hospital policies and procedures.

  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

EDUCATION: High School Diploma or GED. (Bachelor's Degree preferred.) (TRANSCRIPT REQUIRED)

EXPERIENCE: Four (4) years of relevant experience; OR Bachelor's Degree will be accepted in lieu of experience.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Effective interpersonal communication and the ability to communicate professionally with diverse levels of individuals.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

  • Ability to plan, organize, schedule, and implement events.

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and responsibilities at varying times.

  • Ability to quickly learn the requirements of the position and adapt to change.

WORK SCHEDULE: This position may occasionally be required to work weekends and evenings.
