Serves as Medical Transcription Editor responsible for editing preliminary pathology reports in CoPath Software; operates computers and printers to process correspondence, documents, reports, statistical charts and tables; answers phones; responds to inquiries; operates copier; assists Office Staff Coordinator in decision making; reviews reports for accuracy; organizes reports to be delivered to the Histology Laboratory and the Billing Office.
Minimum Required Qualifications
Per Classified Civil Service specifications, six mos. experience (600 hrs course work) in office practices and procedures, including customer service/public relations; 6 mos. experience (300 hrs training) operating basic office machines and equipment (e.g., computer related and peripheral equipment, copy machines, typewriters, adding machines, calculators) including training or experience in typing and/or word processing and/or data entry; or equivalent combination of education and experience; medical terminology and computer experience preferred; typing, word processing and data entry experience desired; experience in Pathology desired; ability to work overtime, including evenings and Saturdays as workflow dictates.
