Provides effective patient/family teaching.
Documents according to entity/department guidelines/protocols.
Recommends therapeutic diets and nourishments safely to prescribing physicians.
Provides care according to best practice standards of care.
Identifies signs and symptoms of neglect/abuse and reports as required by law.
Utilizes techniques of time management effectively.
Addresses age-specific needs of infants, toddlers, school age, adolescents, adults, older adults.
Provides quality nutritional care for inpatients.
Serves as a nutrition education resource within the hospital.
Represents the Nutrition Department on hospital committees and at meetings.
Serves as a resource for kitchen/production staff.
Participates in quality improvement initiatives in the department.
Acts as a preceptor for nutrition students and dietetic interns.
Challenges current working practices; identifies process improvement opportunities and presents recommendations and solutions to management. Engages and commits to the organization's culture of continuous improvement by actively participating, supporting, and promoting CCHC Pillars of Excellence.
Completion of Bachelor's degree in Nutrition or related field required and completion of an approved AND accredited dietetic internship program required. If graduated in 2024 and later Master's degree required for eligibility to become a registered dietitian.
Minimum one (1) year hospital or clinical experience preferred.
Registration with the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) with the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics within 6 months of hire.
Licensure with the Commonwealth of Massachusetts for Clinical Dietitians within 6 months of hire.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
Ability to adapt to a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks efficiently.
