The Impact You'll Make in this Role

As an Analyst, Clinical Development, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:

  • Researching, constructing, and maintaining expert disease and procedure classification software utilizing logic-based programming language for code edit development.

  • Supporting client support escalations as needed in regard to interpreting coding rules and regulations and functionality of code edits utilizing logic-based programming language skills.

  • Participating in relevant corporate programs/initiatives

  • Ensuring professional, quality and security standards are complied with while performing assigned duties

  • Complying with corporate policies and procedures while acting in a manner consistent with 3M's values and ethical standards

Your Skills and Expertise

To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited from an accredited university OR High School Diploma/GED or higher (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution and a minimum of eight (8) years of experience in Health Information Management in lieu of the Bachelor's degree education requirement

  • Certified Registered Health Information Technician/Administrator (RHIT) (RHIA), Certified Coding Specialist (CCS), or Certified Coding Professional (CPC)

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:

  • Accreditation as a Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA), BSIT, BSN or RN or equivalent job experience is preferred.

  • Minimum of five (5) years applicable hospital coding experience

  • Excellent knowledge of disease and procedure classification systems and thorough understanding of official coding guidelines, conventions, and tabular list instructions

  • Strong database computer skill in intermediate logic design with intermediate programming language

  • Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, disease processes, surgical and non-surgical procedures, medical literature and revenue-based regulatory requirements

Travel: Occasional travel may be required

Location: Remote

Relocation: Is not authorized

Must be legally authorized to work in country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1B status).

FT 7a-7p with every other weekend Unrestricted AL or Multi State RN license, five years experience as a Critical Care Registered Nurse, 3 years of recent bedside experience, BLS and ACLS required. Evidence of good communication skills and ability to work well one on one or in group settings. Ability to form effective working relationship with employees, management and physicians. Good problem solving and organizational skills. Able to work at bedside exhibiting advanced specialized nursing skills as required and perform all other duties as assigned.
