Occupational Summary

The Mixed Methods Research Data Analyst will provide research support for COMET Recruitment Enhancement Strategy (CRESt) activities and will also provide Dr. Lynch and the COMET team with administrative support. They will help the study team organize and implement CRESt interventions, site visits, and all communications with Alliance Foundation Trials (AFT); collect and analyze data generated by interventions and site meetings; and present summaries of findings to the COMET team. The Mixed Methods Research Data Analyst will liaise closely with CRESt team members Drs. Davies, Gierisch, and Donovan to produce analyses to enable the development of proposals to improve recruitment in COMET, for consideration by Dr. Hwang. They will also provide Dr. Lynch and the COMET team with general research support.

Specific Work to be Performed

Perform a variety of duties involved in the collection, interpretation and documentation of data in support of research and/or information gathering activities:

  • Collect and analyze both qualitative and quantitative recruitment data

  • Compile an interview schedule/time scale based on COMET DataCollection Sheet data

  • Organize and implement calls with trial sites; take field notes on the calls and collate and synthesize the findings into reports for CRESt team review

  • Undertake selective in-person site visits as required for recruitment support work

  • Collect and conduct rapid analysis of qualitative data from site-level study staff (recruiters, site PI) on recruitment and retention to identify problem areas (i.e. site workflow/pathway) and rapid opportunities for improvement in recruitment

  • Collate and analyze qualitative data from site staff interviews across sites to identify patterns of barriers and facilitators to optimizing site-level recruitment (in conjunction with Drs. Davies, Gierisch, and Donovan)

Coordinate the preparation of reports and analyses setting forth progress, adverse trends and appropriate recommendations or conclusions:

Produce reports using the COMET data collection sheet data to identify specific addressable issues in specified tables and flow chart

  • Participate in dissemination activities of generalizable learnings through programmed interactions with sites

  • Create data reports to assist in evaluating the impact of CRESt interventions

  • Contribute to the writing/dissemination of academic peer-reviewed publications and presentations

Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein:

  • Under direction of the CRESt team, execute re-tooling of existing patient-facing materials to better integrate emerging findings from CRESt work. Under direction of the CRESt team, create documents for clinicians, site-level recruitment staff, and nurse practitioners comprisingc ore COMET narrative based on work with other trials and response to SRS calls (i.e. development of recruitment tip sheet based on learnings from other sites to optimize)
  • Provide general research support for the COMET study

BA/BS AND 2 YRS OF DIRECTLY RELATED DATA MANAGEMENT EXPERIENCE. PARTICIPATE IN A VARIETY OF INDEPENDENT ACTIVITIES INVOLVED IN PLANNING, ORGANIZING AND CONDUCTING RESEARCH STUDIES FOR ASSIGNED TRIALS.
