Varian is seeking a Global Standards and Content Medical Dosimetrist to educate and be a resource to new users on proprietary healthcare oncology software and hardware system products. Develop curriculum and teach courses.

Assist Varian and its customers in fully utilizing the complex functionality of the technology to meet their business needs. Conduct product training for customers and employees, in particular training for complex situations involving multiple products. Lead classroom lectures and laboratory sessions to ensure customers are trained to operate Varian equipment according to safety guidelines with the highest level of satisfaction.

Prepare lesson plans based on engineering documentation, field service requirements, and software documentation to address customers' specific implementation questions. Collaborate with customers as well as the sales, product marketing, and technical support departments to ensure course material reflects current product features, and address customer inquiries including testing scenarios using Varian products. Work directly with Radiation Therapists, Dosimetrists, Physicist and Engineers in the training environment.

Many VMS clients require VMS employees and representatives to meet certain "Vendor Credentialing" requirements before they will be allowed to have access to their sites. Unless prohibited by law, position must meet all Vendor Credentialing requirements necessary to have full client access and must continue to meet those requirements during the course of VMS employment in this position.

Minimum Required Skills and

Clinical Medical Dosimetry experience essential.

Treatment Planning experience a must. Knowledge of Varian Medical Systems Eclipse products a plus. Excellent presentation and customer service skills.

Teaching experience preferred. Ability to communicate effectively with various levels of users (technical and non-technical). Must have strong troubleshooting, analytic, and problem-solving skills. Works effectively in teams.

Self-directed. Demonstrates ability and work under pressure situations. Must be able to multitask, be organized.

Other Desired Skills and

Experience writing curriculum or instructional materials a plus Required Certifications and Training: RTT certification with extensive dosimetry training or MDCB certification required Obtains and completes LMS training plan specific to assigned responsibility.

Applicable to the Oncology Systems business only: Meets all Vendor Credentialing requirements necessary to gain VMS client site access, unless prohibited by law. These requirements vary by client and may include, but are not limited to:

Proof of valid identification (photo, driver's license, SSN) Criminal background checks Drug screens Immunizations (Hep B, MMR, Varicella, Influenza, Tetanus) Annual TB testing Healthcare trainings Experience Level with Business Tools: Proficient in utilizing business tools such as: E-mail, Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Experience with HCM (e.g., Workday) or equivalent ERP product and productivity software desired. Knowledge Has mastered 30-50% of products within the defined professional scope. Developing professional skills and experience.

Job Complexity: Works on problems of diverse scope where analysis of situations or data requires a review of a variety of factors. Exercises independent judgment and discretion in solving complex business problems.

Interaction: Builds productive internal/external working relationships. Supervision: Normally receives general instructions on new projects or assignments. Typical Education and Experience: Bachelor's Degree and has graduated from a formal dosimetry program OR a Bachelor of Science degree in Radiation Therapy, Radiation Science or Radiography or international equivalent. 3 - 5 years of experience treatment planning/ clinical dosimetry

The essential functions for the Dosimetrist include the following: * Independently creates radiation therapy treatment plans using computer software and various imaging modalities * Interprets and delineates anatomy and anatomical positioning on various imaging modalities * Performs or assists in the planning of the fabrication of compensation filters, custom shields, wedges, and other beam modifying devices * Performs or assists in the planning of the production of moulds, casts, and other immobilization devices * Accurately documents treatment planning and quality assurance tasks * Accurately codes for technical treatment planning and quality assurance tasks * Performs general computerized tasks, such as word processing, using spreadsheets, moving and altering files and directories The ideal candidate will have the following background and experience: * Bachelor's degree in medical dosimetry or related field required * A current and valid certification as a qualified medical dosimetrist by the Medical Dosimetrist Certification Board (MDCB) * At least one (1) year of experience with Eclipse and ARIA * A minimum of two (2) years' experience in a clinical setting is preferred * Consideration will be made for non-certified, board eligible candidates Successful candidates will thrive in a fast paced, rapidly changing environment and have a passion for caring for their patients.
