Overview

As the Clinical Credentialing Coordinator for Human Resources, you will be responsible for leading, coordinating, monitoring, and maintaining the credentialing and re-credentialing process for our Nurses as well as supporting Talent Acquisition with pre-employment verifications across the company in partnership with the business and background check vendor.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitates end-to-end medical credentialing process for Nurses and monitors active employees for missing or expiring credentials via a credentialing tracker.

  • On-boards new Nurses through the Background Check and Credentialing process. Ensures that clinical credentials and licenses are valid upon hire.

  • Partners with the background check vendor for follow-up or inquiries and communicates with Recruiters on the progress of new applicants.

  • Evaluates the background, experience and practice history of each applicant and solicits documentation to support request for clinical privileges.

  • Flags renewals on a monthly basis and works with Clinical Operations to ensure renewals are completed.

  • Reviews clinical documents for immunities to titers and ensures all necessary health screens are completed. Orders vaccinations (TB Test, TDAP Vaccine, Hep B Titer, MMR Titer, and Varicella Titer) where necessary and monitors status of visits/completion.

  • Provides regular updates to the business until the team member is fully credentialed or re-credentialed.

  • Partners with HR Business Partner and HR Director on non-compliance and issue remediation.

  • Maintains records related to clinical licensure status of existing team members in SharePoint.

  • Serves as a liaison to credentialing organizations (Reptrax, Vendormate, Symplr, etc).

  • Researches credentialing needs for new vendors and/or facilities. May support coordination of meet and greet sessions between Nurse Liaison and facilities.

  • Provides administrative support related to URAC & NCQA accreditation. Partners with HR on client audits to ensure compliance.

  • Conducts annual background checks and monthly FACIS III checks for all employees.

  • Provides general support to the Talent Acquisition team as needed.

Qualifications

  • Associates Degree with 2 to 4 years of experience in a clinical setting supporting credentialing needs.

  • Medical Credentialing Specialist certification a plus.

  • Knowledge of audit requirements preferred.

  • Strong computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel required.

  • SharePoint experience a plus.

  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.

VIEW JOBS 10/18/2019 12:00:00 AM 2020-01-16T00:00 SUMMARY Directly reporting to the Clinical Research Nurse Manager, coordinates and manages clinical trials under limited supervision in accordance with federal and state regulations, Institutional Review Board (IRB) approvals and Connecticut Children's policies and procedures. Works collaboratively with Principal Investigators (i.e. physicians), Clinical Research Associates/Assistants, ancillary Connecticut Children's team members, and external parties (e.g. study Sponsors) a Clinical Research Associate/Assistant to successfully execute trial specific protocol requirements. ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES STUDY COORDINATION/MANAGEMENT: Clinical responsibilities (performs responsibilities under limited supervision): * Performs medical clinical assessments and interventions including but not limited to, growth assessments, vital signs, phlebotomy as per the clinical trial protocol. * Administers investigational medications (i.e. IV infusions, subcutaneous injections, intramuscular injections, and oral administration). * Clinical observation of post administration of investigational medications and properly documents via progress notes any adverse events or reactions and notifies Principal Investigator (PI) of findings. * May assist PI in completion of clinical procedures. * Provides patient education and medical information to clinical trial participants and/or family members to ensure understanding of investigational treatment dose and administration and documents this information in the research record. * Ensures medical equipment utilized for clinical trial visits is working appropriately and is concurrent with biomedical department maintenance requirements. * Participates as a team member to ensure appropriate inventory of clinical supplies and linens of all clinical trial clinic rooms (i.e. 5S Method). Study Coordinator Responsibilities (performs responsibilities under limited supervision): * Ensures compliance with clinical trial protocols and clearly and thoroughly documents each clinical trial participant visit. * Participates in recruitment and selection of clinical trial participants by reviewing medical history as well as protocol specified inclusion and exclusion criteria. * Participates in the consent/assent process ensuring the clinical trial participant and family understand all aspects of the study protocol including risks and benefits of participating in the clinical trial. * Coordinates appointment scheduling with ancillary departments to complete protocol specific assessments (i.e. physical therapy). * Provides timely information regarding each clinical trial visit to the Office for Grants and Sponsored Programs to ancillary departments as required (Office for Grants and Sponsored Programs, pharmacy, institutional review board, etc.). * Completes data collection and performs data entry as specified by clinical trial protocol. * Provides timely information to study Sponsors including completion of data queries. * Oversees the procurement, preparation and shipping of research specimens as needed. * Meets with the Principal Investigator regularly during the trial to review progress, identify challenges and reconcile issues as necessary; documents meetings with investigators. * Coordinates and participates in monitoring visits as directed by the study Sponsor. STUDY START-UP/CLINICAL TRIAL INITIATION: * Participates in the clinical trial feasibility protocol review. * Participates in internal study start-up processes with Office of Grants and Sponsored Programs and works collaboratively with the Clinical Research Associate/Assistant and internal Regulatory Study Start-up Specialist to complete all regulatory documents. * May assist in the development of protocols, consents, and data collection methods. * In collaboration with the assigned Clinical Research Associate/Assistant, completes IRB submissions and organizes all regulatory and subject research records. * Establishes clear and consistent communication with the clinical trial Sponsor and all Connecticut Children's team members involved in the trial. * Attends clinical trial investigator meetings coordinated by the trial Sponsor.
