Join the compassionate and skilled team at Mayflower Recovery. Opened in 2021, Mayflower Detox offers state-of-the-art addiction treatment, staff, facilities and amenities in Wilmington, MA. We are an ATS (detox) and CSS residential program, serving those that suffer with the disease of addiction. We are looking for a full-time, experienced addiction counselor for Thursday to Monday, 11AM-7 PM. You are able to consistently prioritize patient care, confidentiality, documentation, and best addiction therapy practices.

The Counselor is responsible for performing patient care activities as directed by the attending physician and Clinical Director. He/she will provide group and individual therapy in accordance with BSAS regulations. The position requires that you have experience working collaboratively with treatment teams, for both for treatment and discharge planning. Counselors are strong communicators, maintaining open communication lines with facility staff, attending clinicians and physicians, patients and families. Counselors liaison with community agencies, vendors, and payers of health services.
Experience
A minimum of 1- 2 years' experience in chemical dependency - psychiatric setting.
Working knowledge of a 12-step treatment model.
KIPU documentation experience preferred.
Specific responsibilities related to position:
Actively participates in Interdisciplinary Treatment Plan meetings.
Facilitates group therapy in accordance BSAS regulations
Performs individual therapy with patient/family.
Documents the assessment of patient progress/regress and interventions provided in the medical record, on an ongoing basis.
Recognizes, responds to, and assists in psychiatric crisis situations and provides the intervention necessary.
Responds and assists in medical emergency situations as directed and needed.
Provides patients with education and instruction on Advance Directives.
Responsible for continued education in the field of Chemical Dependency.
Strong understanding of Clinical Note writing in DAP format.
