Assists with the daily coordination of personnel and resources within the scope of assignment.

Acts as the liaison between the nursing departments and all of the ancillary departments to promote continuity of care, optimal patient outcomes, patient satisfaction, cost efficiency and compliance.

Coordinates staff scheduling, educational/development activities and performance evaluations.

Collaborates with physicians, nursing, pharmacy and other healthcare team members/departments to determine, coordinate, and provide medical nutrition therapy.

Identifies and resolves issues affecting the delivery of clinical services.

Maintains constant communication between all nursing areas and the registration area in order to facilitate a smooth through put of patients.

Provides basic direct patient care as needed.

Insertion of PICC lines when ordered by the physician.

Accesses Hickman catheters and port-a-cath lines when needed.

Responds to all in hospital emergencies to guide and assure appropriate outcomes.

Treats patients and their families with respect and dignity.

Rounds on all post surgical or procedural patients.

Provides 'just in time' education for staff during tour of duty.

Assists physicians with procedures.

Reports all incidents or unusual events to the Director or appropriate supervisor.

Provides moderate sedation when required.

Understands and practices within the scope of practice as an RN.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Attends and participates in staff meetings, in-service, projects and committees as assigned.

Adheres to and supports policies and procedures of the STRHS.

Works scheduled shifts including overtime, when necessary.

Accepts all call schedule as directed.

Maintains a neat and professional appearance in compliance to the existing dress code.

Minimum Education

Education level required by the State of Tennessee in order for an applicant to qualify for a License or Certification within the State of Tennessee.

BSN Preferred.

Required Skills

Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.

Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.


Basic Life Support (BLS)

Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)


Licensed RN in good standing with the State of Tennessee.

Candidate can be working under a Compact license as long as their Tennessee license has been applied for.

Duties for Private Duty Certified Nursing Assistant * Perform health care related tasks, such as monitoring vital signs under the direction of a registered nurse. * Prepare and maintain records of client progress and services performed per company policy. * Perform housekeeping duties, such as cooking, cleaning, washing clothes and dishes. * Perform other duties as necessary. * Follow policies and procedures related to safety. * Conduct visual safety inspections throughout the work day; identify and report unsafe conditions and correct as needed. * Immediately report incidents/injuries to supervisor. * Incorporate safe behaviors into daily work life. * Demonstrate appropriate body mechanics in all situations. * Flexibility with hours preferred as there are mulitple shifts available.
