Position Description
Advertised Job Summary
The University of South Carolina Beaufort invites applications for a Clinical Coordinator. This is a full-time, 12-month position, reporting to the Chair of the Department of Nursing and Health Professions.
The successful candidate will coordinate student clinical placement and prepare clinical agency documentation to ensure students are compliant with agency and university health and clinical requirements. The Clinical Coordinator will collaborate with Nursing faculty to secure clinical placements that align with curricular objectives and assume responsibility for ensuring clinical contracts are maintained. Additional responsibilities include assisting with coordinating agency training programs, supporting the Laboratory Coordinator to ensure laboratory equipment and supplies are maintained to support clinical learning; coordinating regular meetings with clinical partners; supervising work study students assigned to the nursing lab.
Ensuring evaluations of clinical agencies and faculty are sent and collected each semester for accreditation purposes. Ensuring all clinical clearance requirements are maintained by students and faculty using various software programs and central coordination in castle branch. Test proctoring for nursing students with accommodations due to limited availability of hours in the testing center.
Other duties may be assigned to meet departmental goals and objectives.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree health-related field and 2 years experience or equivalency;
Valid SC Driver's license.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in nursing preferred.
Experience with clinical coordination of students in the health professions
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
Ability to maintain positive working relationship with faculty and Student placement facilities. Ability to work independently.
Excellent organizational and communication skills. Attention to detail. Working knowledge of clinical teaching practices. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and mobile technology.
