Summary of Duties:

The Washington State University College of Nursing (CON) is seeking a new team member who is excited to play a vital role in clinical experiences for nursing students. The Clinical Contract Coordinator manages the clinical training agreement (CTA) lifecycle for five current nursing programs (RN-BSN, PLBSN, MN, DNP, PhD) and new programs (BSW, MSW, MEPN) at four campuses statewide. In addition, the coordinator safeguards the interests of Washington State University, the College of Nursing and host facilities to ensure that contractual relationships are managed efficiently and in accordance with university and healthcare agency policies and procedures.

This is an exceptional opportunity for a person who will directly contribute to student education and career progression by maintaining positive relationships for the College of Nursing and diverse WSU departments and outside organizations. This role plays a pivotal role in carrying out the CON mission to advance health and well-being through education, scholarship, practice and community engagement.

The Clinical Contract Coordinator will be the primary person responsible for initiating and monitoring the processing of CTAs, advising students, faculty, and sites of the clinical CTA process required to confirm placements, processing completed Clinical Request Forms, maintaining relationships with clinical sites and coordinating clinical contract related matters between the College of Nursing, WSU Procurement and Contracts Services Office, and other clinical education programs or consortiums in Washington, Oregon and Idaho.

In addition, the CON participates in the Western Regional Graduate Program (WGRP), an agreement between 16 western states and territories. The Clinical Contract Coordinator will work closely with organizations across these locations to support clinical and non-clinical placements for students.

Required Qualifications:

High school graduation or equivalent AND two years of experience in the program specialty OR equivalent education/experience.

Additional Requirements:

Demonstrated experience in the program specialty would include coordinating written contract/agreement development and processing, or other similar programs in a business, education, healthcare, or related setting that involves outreach, relation management and database management. Relevant experience would demonstrate:

  • Coordinating/executing on day to day operations of a program.

  • Learning, implementing, and advising on policies and procedures.

  • Strong computer skills including intermediate proficiency with MS Office Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams, and Outlook.

  • Positive and effective professional communication via email, phone, and in person.

  • Strong proof-reading and comprehension skills.

  • Demonstrated strong attention to detail.

  • Demonstrated strong organizational skills.

  • Demonstrated excellent customer service orientation, guiding/teaching others.

  • Willingness and ability to participate in external in-person meetings and facilities.

  • Valid driver's license required upon hire.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's in business, health-related, healthcare administration, public administration or higher education-related fields.

  • Experience working with contract/affiliation agreement development or negotiation, higher education, professional healthcare institution, or policy development.

  • Experience coordinate the operation of a specialized or technical program

  • Experience in computerized record systems and/or information management.

  • Experience with legal writing.

  • Knowledge and understanding of HIPAA and FERPA.

  • Familiarity with the nursing or medical fields and educational requirements.

  • Understanding the tenants of project management.

Monthly Salary: $3,477 to $4,632 | Range 40 Steps A - M | Successful candidates typically begin at the beginning of the salary range and receive scheduled salary increment increases in accordance with WAC 357-28 OR applicable Collective Bargaining Agreement. Step M is typically a longevity step.
