Clinical Contract Manager in East Hanover, NJ

Primary Description of the

Clinical Contract Manager Role:

The Clinical Contract Manager will support activities under the supervision of US Contract Managers to include independently negotiate and finalize Clinical Trial Agreement and Clinical Trial Amendments to include protocol budgets, PI changes, fixed costs, contract assignments, site/payee name change, terminations, and extensions, and IRB task orders.

Primary Responsibilities of the

Clinical Contract Manager:

  • Aid in developing Clinical Trial Agreements, contracts amendment concepts, techniques and standards with senior contract manager.

  • Support negotiation and execution of Agreements and budget amendments with supervision.

  • Support budget and negotiate cost for all contract amendments types and task orders.

  • Ability to work cross functionally with Legal, Compliance, Patent and Insurance to negotiate Agreements and Amendments

  • Support evaluation of Investigational sites amendment requests from a fair market value perspective.

  • Work with amendment requestor to ensure amendment integrity prior to negotiation

  • Support proactive communication with Payments team to ensure payment reconciliation prior to contract termination

  • Work closely with finance specialist under supervision to ensure completion of payment reconciliation prior to terminating sites contract.

  • Support collaboration with Clinical Study Manager, Investigational Sites, and study start up groups to expedite and finalize amendments

Education and Experience Requirements of the

Clinical Contract Manager:

  • Bachelors degree in life sciences, or business administration, legal, finance, or related field.

  • 3+ years of experience in pharmaceutical/biotech industry

  • 3+ years of experience in contract management and/or study start-up activities including contract negotiations and management

  • High degree of organizational, analytical, and team management skills.

  • Computer literacy with document and spreadsheet applications, and the ability to work on complex, multi-faceted projects.

  • Excellent negotiation skills.

  • Vast knowledge of clinical trial agreements.

Additional Information:

  • Contract assignment, 8-months.

  • Work schedule: Full-Time

  • Pay Rate: Determined by experience.

RESPONSIBILITIES: * Monitor clinical data quality and progress of trials outsourced to CROs; drive corrective actions as needed * Ensure complete and consistent medical term coding using appropriate standard dictionaries * Ensure consistency of serious adverse event data across clinical and drug safety databases * Proactively identify project threats and resolve issues with clinical trial teams; escalate to BMA management if necessary and appropriate * Ensure clinical databases are structured in alignment with case report forms and data standards; provide technical feedback to CROs as needed * Represent Biometrics-DM on Clinical Trial Teams, providing leadership on project-level CDM strategy, data validation plans, and data issue identification and feedback. * Provide CDM input on Study Specification Worksheets for CRO proposal requests * Develop CDM presentations for Investigator Meetings, CRA workshops, and Project Kick-off meetings as appropriate * Assist in training and mentoring of new hires upon request * Help respond to Health Authority/FDA/audit requests pertaining to project-specific data management issues QUALIFICATIONS: * 6 or more years CDM and/or clinical trial operations experience or a Bachelor's Degree and 4 or more years CDM and/or clinical trial operations experience * 2 or more years of experience in managing outsourced work or working for a CRO * Demonstrated project management experience in a team environment * Experience of hand-on data management using RAVE SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE: * Understanding of clinical data management principles and concepts * Understanding of database design and development concepts * Understanding of SAS concepts * Understanding of medical term coding concepts * Understanding of clinical trial methodology and GCP * Understanding of basic medical concepts * Understanding of basic statistical concepts * Ability to use e-mail, standard MS Office applications, and SAS Viewer * Ability to review high volumes of data for quality issues; attention to detail * Organizational, planning and project management skills * Interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills * Ability to operate effectively in a team environment Kelly Services, Inc.
