The Clinical Care Leader (CCL) is a professional registered nurse with responsibility and accountability for the coordination of professional nursing practice activities in specified patient care areas leading to exemplary outcomes.
The Clinical Care Leader utilizes, role models and mentors others in the nursing process, coordination of patient care leadership skills and use of current evidence based clinical knowledge to improve patient outcomes. This occurs through collaboration with health team members, evidence based nursing interventions and consistent leadership that promotes excellence in nursing practice.
The CCL provides patient and staff education, development of clinical proficiency and participates in unit based activities (quality assessment, shared governance, scheduling, quality review, staff development continuing education, etc.) Accepts responsibility and accountability for ethicaVIegal functioning.
Must be a graduate of an accredited nursing school.
BSN and currently holds a nationally recognized specialty certification (24 months).
Must be currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
Must possess the knowledge of clinical, psychological, and pathophysiological theories related to nursing diagnosis and treatment.
Demonstrates competency In the interpersonal, technical, and critical thinking domains of practical professional nursing.
Must be able to lift, push, and pull up to 50 lbs. and perform all functions involved in CPR.
Must have knowledge of/demonstrate leadership theories, teaching skills, and understanding of group dynamics.
